US President Bush has postponed his visit to Canada due to pre-occupation with 'Operation Iraq Oil' but really called 'Operation Iraq Freedom'. Who is he trying to fool. We have an administration run by a 'Bush', a 'Dick' and a 'Coli(o)n'. !!!!!.

But the inside scoop about his postponing visit to Canada, is Secret Service could not get an appointment for Bush with Cameron at HFH.

Hey, HFH hats off to you for sticking to first come first served policy.

Oh please. You're not serious are you?

It has everything to do with it. Why do you thing the Russians, Chinese and, particularly, the French were against the invasion. They have everything to loose. The fact that the country is run by a fanatic as*hole, who should have his arms chopped and his moustash removed, in order to "save" the people of Iraq, is just window dressing. To believe otherwise, you have to be a gun-toting Republican.

Bush postponement

Interesting that after John Manley criticized his Liberal colleagues
for being too outspoken, Paul Celucci backpedalled and suggested that the US-Canada relationship had not been fundamentally damaged and Bush would be coming to Canada.
Celucci was obviously trying to repair the diplomatic damage
from his "disappointment" comments, but now Bush has pulled the rug out from under him. This will give Stephen Harper, the real
pinup boy for the Republican right, lots of ammo to direct against Chretien.

Personally, I'm relieved Bush is staying away. Better to let tempers cool off, even if we do have to endure yet more of the bleating Alliance. Glad to know they are sinking in the polls like a stone.

Wonder what the Bush-ites think of Paul Martin?

Good. I hope they nail Chretien's ass to the wall. What a Putz. By the way, I hear after he leaves in 2004, he'll be teaching a seminar entitled "Grovelling 101".

I expect Bush, just doesn't want to get caught in the controversy of whether or not your prime-minister triped into his fist or not.

Please....if this was all about oil, why didn't the US keep Kuwait's oil 12 years ago?

It is not about "keeping" a country or their oil. That is not what is meant by oil being a motive. The US wants friendly governments in oil rich lands to do the US' bidding. The US will not keep Iraqi oil, they will simply make sure that a puppet government will do their bidding and not only set oil prices in the US' interest, but also insure that US companies will get the oil contracts and that oil money will be spent on the rebuilding of the country by special US firms. Also the US arms manufacturers need the US to use up their stockpiles so that they will increase orders. (Do you know that many top defense department officials have direct financial interest in arms manufacturers?) If oil it too cheap that is not in the US interest either, remember the US produces 8 million barrels a day. It is not as simple as your world one ball. As for Kuwait, the US wanted the friendly Royals in power not MadAss or Maddas (Saddam spelt backwards) or a democratic Kuwait, because then like a democratic Turkey the people may be opposed to the US bringing in troops even if the leaders are in favor of the US' aims.

Just Lyndon Johnson and Mike Pearson. Johnson did not like Mr. Pearson's speech on Vietnam at the U.N. so Johnson grabbed Mr. Pearson by the lapels and screamed at him for pissing on his rug.
