Busines name help

I’m going to register a numbered corporation in Ontario to save me the hassle of finding an available name. Then I’m going to register a business name under which I will do business. My question is can I have more then one business name?

For instance corporation 12356 ontraio inc, which would be my corporations’ name for all legal purposes and then have two name business names under which I advertise such as joes appliances and quality goods

You can advertise as whatever you want, just be careful about potential trademark violations and keep in mind having a corp. registered as the name you are doing business as protects you at least to the extent that somebody cannot register the same name.

Yes, you can have multiple company names , The Names you choose also need to be registered and The corporation number also has to be mentioned on any documents, advertising or printed matter etc , so that the consumer knows who they are dealing with
IE Joes Appliances O/A , or O/U , or a division of 123456 Ont Ltd

I actually have three business names 1) numbered company - the legal entity 2)business name - the operating name 3)I operate a franchise(or similar) so I carry the major trade name

...it's known as COB - "Carrying On Business" As...

It's just like AKA - "Also Known As"...

I am not aware of any limits in terms of the number of names you can have.

Then if anyone asks you about your company, you can say my company is "ass backwards".
