In a place far, far away
I did the upgrade route and trust me a new off the shelf PC is cheaper and a home made one.

That $710 price sounds just about right for a PC of that power, but does it come bundled with software?

Config and price seems about right. I love Asus motherboards. My only concern is the brand of hard drive. Most places put a Maxtor hard drive in and they've been unreliable. I prefer IBM or Western Digital. See if you can specify either one of those brands and then I'd say go for it.

ICCT has the best prices out there, in general no one can beat there prices. But my favorite place to shop is Aplus computers on spadina and college. Their prices are reasonable (not as good as ICCT by a few bucks on most stuff) but their service is awsome. In this day and age of cut throat computer pricing it is refreshing to see someone cut the consumer some slack. Back a year ago i bought an AMD chip and used a celeron cooler on it, needless to say the chip burnt, I brought it back and they gave me a replacement. a month ago I bought a mother board there, found out that all i needed was a new cpu instead of a motherboard, they let me trade the motherboard in for anew cpu no questions asked.

I gotta support these guys they are the best bar none, i would gladly pay a few bucks more for there service. I suggest everyone do the same.

ICCT and GoGo computers both...

.. have amazing prices. You can compare thier ads in "Toronto Computes" or "The Computer Paper". GoGo seem to be more about AMD systems though and they don't have a website. :( But they provide excellent bang for your buck, in my opinion.
