(although I do it occasionally now). I find it an abomination to use smilies, because it
implies that the reader is NOT smart enough to get the irony, sarcasm or
whatever else is in the post. Using smilies is descending to the lowest
common denominator. I must admit, however, the policy of not using smilies
have caused me problems, because some members assume a post without smilies is serious.
