The Bug was the first to sit at the table.

The Kangaroo and the Ant Eater had better scores than James.

In the first game, the Kangaroo rolled first, then the Ant Eater rolled, then the orange pet rolled, then John rolled.

In the last game, the Ant Eater rolled first, then Jerry rolled, then the orange pet, then the Penguin.

The white pet went home before the Penguin did.

The brown pet didn't score as high as James.

The purple pet went home before Jerry.

What was Jordan's colour and species?

Sorry Papi, can't be like that.

The brown pet scored lower than James, but the kangaroo scored higher than James. Hence, Jerry can't be brown and the kangaroo.

A little vague on the location, but next time I'll stake out the card game for you and find out. I'll even take photos for you, so you'll have some pics to send those pesky TERBite members.

Half the fun is in working out the puzzle clue by clue (it reminds me of the monthly feature in Alfred Htchcock's mystery mag).

I always write the four names down in one column and then list all four choices for the other two items (pet, colour here) and cross them out as the clues give you information.

The scores (two clues) tell us the Kangaroo and Ant-Eater scored higher than James, and James scored higher than the Brown pet.

James = Bug = Orange.
John = Penguin = Brown.
Jerry = Kangaroo = White
Jordan = Ant-eater = Purple.

After the party broke up, in a case of mistaken identity, The ant-eater ate James the bug. Jerry, the Kangoaroo, got hopping mad at the demise of his friend and squashed Jordan.
