stfu, mind your own business and don't be a rat.
How did I know you would say something stupid? Would you say the same thing if it was a case about the guy that apparently sexually molested you when you were a kid?

Even the confession to the friend likely would be inadmissible, given that it took place without the usual safeguards and cautions. The reason? -- because history shows that courts should not rely on confessions reported that way.
Confession to a friend will pretty much ALWAYS be admissible.
Safeguards etc are needed only if a confession was made to a person in authority.

Seeing how you are still being a dick, remember the thread where you said some guy forced you to give him a blowjob when you were 10 or 11? You were being an ass in that thread and eventually gained sympathy from us because you did not reveal that you were molested until someone pushed you on it. Obviously you know exactly what I am talking about or you would have contradicted me by now. Would you still give the same advice knowing that the case could be somewhat similar. Would you have appreciated it someone came forward in your defense?
Secondly, I could not care less if I am considered a "rat". Too much at stake for the victims. Thirdly, if that is a word, it has become my business.

first off i don't think i am being a dick by saying mind your own fucking business cuz you have no idea if what you were told is true or not. if the guy is guilty it will be proven, if he is innocent you running your mouth will fuck him up and make you look bad. as for my situation no one came forward cuz no one knew and it's not something i talk about to often. i told my mom she told me iw as lying. no one came forward for me and if someone knew and didn't come forward that is on them not me. so unless you know without a shadow of a doubt 100% that what you were told is true and not some guy that was pissed talking shit. keep your mouth shut.

It's not up to Rono to investigate and determine if the information he has is correct or not, that would be, if he chooses to give that information, up to a court of law to determine it's relevance. For all we know the information in question may already known to the authorities.

Since Rono can't provide the full details to us , Judging him for giving this information, in either a good or bad light is simply not fair.

i am not judging him at all, i am just saying he doesn't know if what he was told is true or not and it might be damaging to the person if the rumours turn out to be only rumours. if the cops come to him and ask him then yeah say whatever but otherwise just keep quiet and wait to see what happens. i can't tell you how many times i was told shit about people and more times than not it was a lie of someone just trying to fuck with someone they didn't like.

"stfu, mind your own business and don't be a rat."
Is the first page of any textbook on "Expert Testimony for Professionals" including Accountants, Engineers, Doctors and Pathologists.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of ways Rono can get in trouble that he probably hasn't considered yet.

What if someone is deliberately trying to spread disinformation?

Rono just thinks he knows something important. He is not an actual witness to the events. If someone is trying to set someone up, Rono could confirm police suspicions and make himself liable for obstruction of justice.

Believe it or not, this situation could end up in: "No good deed goes unpunished."

Truth or not, Rono can get sued for slander.

and that is basically what i said in the following 3 or 4 posts. he doesn't know it to be true and could ruin someone else's or his own life by talking.

Perhaps it wasn't intentional but when you say

stfu, mind your own business and don't be a rat.
That comes off being very judgemental.

As for him revealing the information and ruining someone's life , that depends on how he does it, he goes around telling everyone he knows.. "you know that guy jack ? when his friend bob told me he did that and he's gonna lie about it" ( Names chosen at random ) then yes, he's ruining someone's rep.
But if he uses one of the more discreet method of conveying that information that have been suggested in this thread, he's not harming anyone reputation.

i hope a friend of all of you guys goes to your friends and close ones and says "i heard a rumour this guy is cheating on his wife with professional girls" then you can grasp the reality of of how someone talking true or not can fuck your life up. i will say it again for everyone that didn't read anything but that one post. if the cops come to him and ask then say what you know otherwise mind your own fucking business. he doesn't know if what he was told is true or not and he could just be fucking someones life up or his own.

I quoted that one post of yours as I was giving you benefit of the doubt that your intention was not to be judgemental, but the wording you choose to express it came across as such.

I was also very clear how important the method in which he releases that information can cause harm to the individual if he is not discreet about it, and I gave an example that such a non descreet method.

OK Simon, I get what you are trying to say, although crass and neanderthalic as it may be. Cassini is correct, I did not consider the possibility of misinformation being spread, although unlikely, it may be possible.

sorry it was my fault, i just assumed you would be smart enough to see both sides of the coin. people talk shit all the time just to fuck with people they don't like. think back to high school and how many girls ran around saying they got raped by this or that guy and that guy got his ass kicked then you find out she was just mad at him and it never happened.

Snitches get stitches? How old are you?

If the police investigate the details and find something that confirms their initial charges, it has nothing to do with the OP.

If someone 'planted' this information, than the guilt lies with that person.

As a p.s. when I was a camp counsellor and later doing some coaching, I had several occasions to call children's aid. In one case, there was a basis and it seemed that they already were on it. The other two cases, they found nothing and no harm was done (became friedly with one of the dads later and he had no problem with me calling).
