Can we talk about the patholigical lying?

Its one thing to tell a white lie.

Its another to tell a bunch of lies.

Its an entirely different thing to fabricate an entire life and persona.

Does everyone feel a compulsion to do this?

I just had one that took the cake but he's just a very extreme case. I catch almost everyone lying to some degree. There is some level of dishonesty and that's to be anticipated.

What's with the guys that pretend to be rich and powerful when they're clearly not.

I always thought that little fantasy was weird. Going to a hooker and pretending to be important.

I had one of those today and I sent him a link to betterhelp.com

I think I'm going to start doing that to all the mentally ill people that message me. Like the people obviously experiencing mania. the desire for sex, promiscuous sex and unsafe sex is high in people experiencing mania and we all get contacted by these people. Theyre exhausting.

I understand lying... i understand inflating your sense of worth... but fabricating a whole life to impress a stranger is ick

It's called being a con artist and it's a lot more common than you think some are so good it's very hard to spot. I have a philosophy don't take anything that anybody says at face value always think the worst then be pleasantly surprised sometimes.

Yup, this industry is full of them. I’ve crossed paths with many a SW who fabricates entire life stories of being rich, famous, luxury travels, privileged upbringing all while carrying fake Chanel, bad teeth and poor grammar.

It's called being a con artist and it's a lot more common than you think some are so good it's very hard to spot. I have a philosophy don't take anything that anybody says at face value always think the worst then be pleasantly surprised sometimes.

In my neighbourhood, what someone says about themself means absolutely nothing.

What other people say about them, especially when they're not around, means a lot.

When I did a brief stint as an indy, someone used to show up and would ask beforehand if there was parking for his Ferrari. I would watch this guy come in from the TTC every single time. I had another clearly uneducated person with calloused hands tell me he was a surgeon who specialized in boob jobs. There are more but these two stood out the most!

Oh man, this guy couldn't get his lies straight he was bouncing all over the place. We ended at him saying something like I should check with all the other hookers in the area and ask about him because he spends so much money.

One minute he's a local with a a modest job and the next he's some big hot shot who works up North.

The jokes just write themselves.

He just wanted someone to talk to him for free.

I told him to get therapy. Bragging about spending all of his money on prostitutes isn't a flex... it's pathetic.

He really believed it made him a stud
