I was told by a former NCAA football player that the income from football pretty much funds all other sports. The exception might be schools that
are big basketball schools like Duke.
The bigger effect will be on the USports game. Most top USports programs are loaded with CHL players who have aged out. Those players now have the option to play in the CHL then head over to the NCAA after. It also hurts Tier II Jr. A teams as now players don't have to choose NCAA vs. CHL. Players can go the CHL route and if it is not for them then go to the NCAA.
Money wise there isn't enough to go around to make a huge impact. $700,000/year for a top prospect is rare and will only happen at bigger schools. At the college level you will see the teams in the B1G take over as that is the only real hockey conference with any money.

The ncaa is trying to poach players to try to remove their small dick syndrome, they've always felt like the red headed step child. These older players are mostly going nowhere and are trying to get a free education. I bet most end up back in the chl when they start sitting out games and realise things aren't as great as they thought.

No way, average ticket price is 55$ x 9000 = 495,000 per game x 33 games = 16,335,000 per year in ticket prices alone, excluding playoffs. I know it's not all profit but no way 25,000,000.
You are wrong on ticket prices by a long shot, every seat of 9000 is the same price, about $27 a seat for 34 regular season games.
They don’t own the arena and have to pay a rental to the city for that…the city and private identies owns all the parking around the facility and the team receives nothing for that.
The concessions are owned by the arena management group but the Knights do receive a small percentage of the profits from that.
The Knights may be worth more than what I said but no way 100 million.

The reported value of the London Knights was just over $23mil in 2016. Ottawa 67s were the highest OHL team in terms of value at just over $55mil.

), but I believe that $700k is not paid to him as collegiate athletes cannot be paid. It’s what we know as the “full ride” scholarship: Tuition, housing, food, books, training, all the equipment, therapy, transportation to and from games… and anything else related to him attending Penn State.

While NCAA have long fought to keep students out of the money-making side of college sports, athletes now have varying extents of protection, allowing them to profit by selling their name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights.
Really?! Times have changed… I remember the past where athletes are forbidden to accept any payment… especially from endorsements.
There was some controversy as well about the colleges using loopholes like cars, designer clothing, jewelry etc as “gifts”

I remeber way back in the 80's SMU(Southern Methodist University) football program was given the "death penalty" for players recieving cash and gifts.
