Wow. If Washington defeats Montreal this afternoon and Carolina can get at least one point in their game vs LA tonight, that will put Montreal alone in last place of the Eastern conference.
It would be funny if it happened as I laid it out above just to see the reaction of the lunacy wing(fans and media).

Washington 3 Montreal 0
Carolina 2 LA 1

Montreal is in last place in the East, by themselves.

In English and French, this team sucks(les sucks) in both languages.

369 days are just over one year.
369 divides by 3 to equal 123.

And of course ...
369 days is the time that passed between goals scored by Scott '$7.8 million dollar' Gomez. Now that is a bargain.

I was so caught up in the hoopla of the Gomez goal I forgot to mention Montreal won ! For the third time in a row. That, of course, is why you see the Montreal fans reappear in other threads.

The Leafs have lost two in a row, but still have a comfortable nine point lead on Montreal.

Just when you though Montreal has turned it around

BOOM

the circus starts up again ... and it was the English coach who started it this time.

Cunneyworth vs the $7.8 million dollar, one goal man.
Word is Montreal may try to move him. lol. Good luck on that one.
He does not have a 'No Move Clause' ... the Leafs will take him if Montreal takes Connolly and sends their next three first rounders.

It was the other Randy !
The dispute with the $7.4 million dollar, one goal man and coach Randy was with the assistant Randy, not the head coach Randy.

Wow ! Last place !

I did not see that one coming at the start of the season. I do not think, try as they might, catch Columbus for the best shot at the number one pick overall.

Well, considering that the last few years the worst team got the number one overall pick, there's is a good chance that Columbus will not get the #1 pick.

A good analogy for tonight ... "Dumb and Dumber".

The only thing that Leafs can be thankful for, as bad as it has been lately, they are not the circus that is Montreal.
Imagine if, as idiotic as the media is here, they demanded that the coach of Toronto is a Toronto guy, only speaks English, and has won a Cup.

Everybody in Montreal has taken a turn being thrown under the bus. The English only coach is a permanent resident under the bus for his temporary run as interim coach of the Montreal circus.

Geoff Molson "but he is only temporary !"

Really, the circus leaves Montreal soon, and returns to headquarters in Toronto permanently. Toronto could finish 14th or 15th trading spots. What separates these two 5 points. Why not have a Toronto guy coach, you'd have a ringmaster training the best clowns in the world. It couldn't be any worse than this:

Oh wait, it really could!

Montreal's NHL team is leaving Quebec ?
Even Quebec City did not want them. lol
Not too sure we want them here either, as much as we would like a second team we do not want a circus.
The GM and the owner publicly throwing the coach they hired, only weeks before, under the bus.

Idiot GM "I am sorry for hiring a English only coach and I did not know he was from Toronto."
Idiot owner; "The coach is only temporary ! We will find a french guy. We will give him beer, he will sign a contract."

Classy Montreal, real classy. :thumb:

The Molsons almost ran the team out of town the last time they owned them, I am glad they get a second shot at it.

Most of Quebec does not like the Montreal team. lol
La Belle province is screaming "Please bring back the Nordiques !"

I do not know if anyone predicted this kind of season for Montreal, but they are now challenging for the second draft position.
Tonight on HNIC is the rare opportunity to see both the Leafs and Montreal on the same night, but not the same game. Montreal plays Vancouver in the late game tonight.

Somebody actually forgot to tell the Habs to tank it,lol.

They actually out played the Nuks in their own rink.

And Markov played a solid game.

What is new at the Montreal circus ?

A new GM(General Moron), who took 3 seconds to remove Cunneyworth as HC of the three ringer.

Start the chant;
"Hire Roy, Hire Roy, Hire Roy, Hire Roy, Hire Roy, etc ..."

He will not hear any criticism because he will plug his ears with his rings.

Now you are stretching it...

No matter the reason, he was thrown under the bus... etc etc, it simply did not work for him as a head coach in Montreal. You really think any GM would keep him as head coach in Montreal? Why go through another season if it's not working out. On the contrary, the new GM would be a moron to keep him around. Why not make it clear from the get go and concentrate on finding someone that would fit in Montreal?

French Canadian coaches would never be seriously considered in Toronto, Edmonton or Calgary. Those teams are smart enough to not come out and say it and their fans are apparently not smart enough to notice. Maybe Calgary can be the next team to recycle Pat Quinn.

No doubt a stupid policy in Montreal or anywhere (and it hurts Montreal more because there are not many qualfieid bilingual candidates right now), and the French media makes it an even more pathetic situation. Although Calgary seems to not be helping its cause with its insistence on the old Western Boys of the past 15 years.

At the end of the day what has killed Montreal is not really the policy. As I stated before, some extremely good young coaches have come into Montreal and had success elsewhere. The French media just has an appetite to go after coaches and they are forced out early... be it Vigneault, Julien, and Burns. It was also the reason that Jacques Lemaire left Montreal and would never come back. Four pretty good coaches who got their start because of Montreal's policy.
