Are there any agencies that will rent out a car long term and which I can take across Canada all the way to British Colombia??
My cousins from England are coming over for Xmas and they wanna take a Canada cross country trip all the way to Vancouver.

The catch is though I wanna leave the car in Vancouver, and then fly back to Toronto.
Are there any car rental agencies that will allow that??

Ask around. There may be some agencies that need cars moved from Ontario to BC. Ask them how much they will pay you to drive
a car to BC. LOL

Haven't done it recently but you used to be able to drop off in another location but it would usually cost extra.

I have used discount car and truck rental before when travelling to the U.S. for extended periods and done well. Whatever you do, phone your insurance company, tell them you are renting a car and that you would like to purchase insurance coverage for this purpose. My insurance charges me $55 for the entire year and it enables me to waive the car rental insurance requirement. The car rental agency charges $24 per day, whereas, as I said, my insurance company charges $55 for the entire year. It really adds up.

yes several do let you drop off at another location-for a price! just shop around it can vary quite a bit.
now coming to canada at xmas and then driving all the way to vancouver they better take out full ins coverage because they will sure get some weather they are not used too!!!

I am a loyal Enterprise customer and love those guys! They've got some awesome winter rates too, especially the wknd specials :D ... I recently rented a car from them that had a Quebec plate on it, so I'm guessing someone did drive it across.

You can also put the insurance on your credit card if you've got rental car coverage as a feature of your CC, and thus not take the rental co's coverage. There are some limitations (I believe CC insurace is collision only -- no liability -- but cost-wise that's your best bet.)

Have a nice trip!

I assume you mean no regrets at all.

What do you mean by "Hit and missed"??
Sorry for the typing.

Hit and miss means that cars are not always available to where ever you want to go. You are driving someone's car to a destination the owner is going to by plane.
The Vancouver car I got, in June, was the only available car they had at the time. The lady was moving there and didn't want to drive with the kids across country. They were 10-12 years old.

The Miami car it was snowbird going to Florida in December. SO I wanted to go there and there were 15 cars going that way.

Toronotdriveaway is just a broker/middleman.

One way rentals at such a distance essentially 'lose' the car for the branch renting it. You might look into shipping tha car back, and figure that cost plus the rental one-way is your negociating base, to see if it's a number the agencies can work with. You might also do better escalating to corporate who may be able to orchestrate the shuffle. Some dealers also will also consider rentals if they trust your insurance coverage.

Europe's full of buy/drive/sell back car-rental plans, that work out cheaply (and are done w/ credit), but mine have always been circular. What about buying, driving and selling in Vancouver? Or is that just too wacky?

I thought about that but what if it doesnt sell right away in BC, then I have to sell it to used car dealer at a much greater loss.
Shipping it back is not a bad idea, something I will look into.

I could also drive back but 8 days long-distance driving is a bit too much IMO.
Plus it's 8,000 clicks on my speedometer that I dont want

ROFLMAO......8000 km/hr on my speedometer might be breaking a few speeding laws, you think?? :)

Odometer it is
I took my GPS with me on a recent plane trip so it's max. speed currently read 955km/hr. Kinda want to leave it there to confuse people.....
