This is a completely senseless and horrible crime. The poor guy was simply doing his food delivery job to make ends meet and it cost him his life. I feel for the guy's friends and family. Hope they catch the assholes.
When I was in university I had a part-time job delivering meals for a restaurant. I was usually on my bike and sometimes on foot. Never had any problems. I did worry that I might get robbed (never happened) because back then most people paid with cash.
I now see lots of people on bikes/ebikes with those huge backpacks delivering for Uber Eats, etc.

So sad. Just learned that Mr. Nath was a foreign student. Apparently, there is a GoFundMe page raising money to send his body back to India.
Unfortunately, his death reminds me of that young man who was killed outside Sherbourne subway station in 2021.

Poor guy was a student here just finishing up his business degree. Delivered food part time. These maggots gotta pay.
Seems like it was a premedited setup according to Peel Regional Police.
Absolutely tragic and sad.
Incidents like these are going to push the public more towards a hard line approach on crime especially if it comes out that the perpetrators were known to police and just out due to our weak sentencing laws.
Some of these delivery people carry bags with names of the company they work for. If you see a guy with a Skip the dish bag, and written on the bag, that is a red flag. You are saying I have money.I don't understand what point you are trying to raise. Did I miss something?

The story in this case is the thieves/murderers were after the car, not cash.
I can't stop thinking about this poor kid. At some point we all had part time jobs to get by and this is what he gets? Ruthless.
