Typical for people that don't read past the headlines. Those people are the PeePee base.

It's funny that Carney is trusting Trump.

I think the Carney supporters new slogan should be head down, ass up.
Even though there are very good reasons not to trust the orange clown, there is little cost to trusting him in this case. If Trump stabs us in the back for the 97th time, we can always reinstate retaliation. Perhaps Trump did make some concessions, or some assurances but it would not be good to crow about them

He's caught in a bind.

Cardboard Carney, Canada's most ferocious paper tiger......
Removing Tariffs means removing an artificial sales tax on Canadian consumers. If Trumps wants to raise taxes on USA citizens go ahead.

The grassroots boycott is far more effective, but still allows low income Canadians to buy the lowest price for families.

I have no issue with this.

I still think they need to use energy surcharges as a tactic.

Trump isn't done yet. This was done just so Trump would take Carney's call.

When he's finished, then we'll see if you still have no issues. :ROFLMAO:

It is just reciprocal.
Goods covered under CUSMA won't be tariffed as the US is not doing it either.
This means about 85% of trade between the US and Canada does not have tariffs anymore.
This is good. It isn't "folding".
Is it folding or part of negotiations? If you give nothing then you will get nothing, especially from a guy like Trump. There are no deals signed yet, so maybe it is a stalling tactic.
You cannot reason with unreasonable folks. It just doesn't work.

We will just find other markets. And clearly you don't see where this will end. US Conpanies will RAISE domestic made product prices as well. Because they can't replace their imports completely.

So consumers will pay more sales tax, and more to corporations in the USA.

Well actually lumber, steel and al are tariffed by the USA and they are covered under CUSMA, but Trump did exempt some copper products from the 50% tariff.

If I'm not mistaken, Canada has left retaliatory tariffs on Steel and lumber.

Other Markets? Where? Where are we going to dump all that Canadian metal and lumber? :ROFLMAO:

You guys keep believe this nonsensical bullshit Carney keeps saying. Shit doesn't make any sense.

This ^
Energy surcharges on electricity would sting and the US has no ready alternatives. Trump will be dead and gone long before any new nuclear, gas, hydro or coal plants could be brought online.

And WE would make money.

We don't have to right away. The USA is still importing our products. They have no choice. They still need it. It allows us time to diversify.
