and why are you still blithering ?

200% + tariffs on Dairy that kick in at specified volumes that is why

the sure sign the opponent is losing is when they try to make it personal

so i guess you think this is acceptable

ask you yourself how can any industry manage to throw away $14.9 billion worth of product and still stay profitable ?

something is very very wrong when 1/2 Canadian families are $200 a month away from insolvency and struggling with high grocery prices and $14.9 billion of Nutritious milk is poured down the drain in order to enrich and protect a special interest group

you do not have a clue how much damage a prolong tariff war will cause Canada

AI is not always correct. The study was flawed by not including various factors. And considering you only posted the high number, and not the low one of 6.7 billion as well, you were cherry picking there Johny. And that wide an estimate range shows a lack of data and a lot of guessing.

There is waste in all food processing. Go look out back of any grocery store.

Also you fucked yourself eith this argument. If we are already wasting product why import more? Does that make sense?

Trump is a paper tiger. He keeps delaying implementation hoping nations will act like you and panic. They aren't. They are all prepared to stick it out. He won't get deals in time.

Yeah I was worried he wouldn’t be able to emotionally manage Trump but there is hope on the horizon there, and he seems to know how to stroke his taint so far lol

Aside? I am a little peeved at how much the juvenile concepts of “‘nice” and “mean” played into our current political state of affairs here in Canada. Like maybe we could expand our moral vocabulary and discourse beyond that of a three year old’s? Super annoying that people (old ass grown people) basically voted upon those base emotions but wtv people become like children when they get old.

“Oh that Fanjoy, what a nice fellow! He came by everyday for two years, while Pierre was campaigning nationally, even brought me coffee eh”

Imagine your national identity being “we’re basically Americans, just nice” though some of you unironically believe we are more intelligent (fucking lol)

(Works for Trump I guess. Which should really make some of you question your beliefs about Trump, because Carney is a known technocratic ecozealot and probably an antinatalist by extension lol)

Maybe there is some wisdom there I am missing about conflating Nice with Good but I have a visceral aversion to it and think it’s juvenile

But yeah PP obviously was too “mean” that smug apple eating bastard

AI is regressive and brainrotting metagoogling and only slightly better than a Buzzfeed listicle. People are worried about iPad babies, but we should be equally worried about AI using boomers lol, it just exacerbates the problems a lot of them already have

Some old ass people remember when globally the city was called Toronto the clean. Same with homeless, that's a new thing over the last decade. Previous to that we had hardly any homeless, ttc was safe and there were no tent cities. What changed? Cuts to social services or static social services while inflation raised everything else. Same with wages. Sure, housing went up but not wages. What also changed? Less reliance on progressive taxation, more reliance on sales taxes that hit lower and middle classes more, more corporate tax breaks and more tax breaks for the super rich. Now you've got a boomer class sitting on real estate that is their retirement while youth can't afford apartments, let alone homes.

You're not old enough to remember, but functional social services made life good here. The more they get cut the shittier life becomes unless you can be 'mean' and screw enough people over to be rich and save yourself.

Israel is now a pariah state hated globally.
Zionism is known to be as genocidal as nazis
Saudi Arabia to trump to stop attacking Yemen
Iran is still there
Ukraine just used their own drones to shut down all Russian airports and destroy multiple oil$gas sites
trump is lost, has no idea what he's doing and looking for advice from Carney
Israel has destroyed the idea of free speech in the US and turned the country fascist to support their genocide.

Countries are electing people who are against MAGA everywhere.

The US is headed for a recession while bankrupting MAGA supporters.
You are an easy mark.
You still think you will profit from backing the corrupt felon, as if the fraud artist will make you rich.

Totally off-topic and no offense intended but I’ve gotta say, with that level of poetic savagery, I can’t help but wonder… how do you moan? Like, there’s no way it’s just a basic “oh yeah, baby, right there, oooooooh” kind of moan.

No, no. I imagine it’s something more like:
“OMG, My synapses are incandescent with delight! Verily, thou hast struck the nexus of my neural ecstasy!”
while the English professor John is pre ejaculating with delight and love in his eyes.

Honestly, if you dropped a moan mid-coitus the way you drop comments in this thread, your partner’s probably filing a thesaurus under “erotica” and questioning all their life choices. :ROFLMAO:

Now, don't be mean in your reply. Please be nice!!!!

what is wrong with you?

intentionally dumping any product strictly due to monopolistic supply management regulations , while Canadians get pounded by the cost of food is insane

There is waste in all food processing. Go look out back of any grocery store.
that is due to spoilage not supply chain manipulation
what is wrong with you?

you are stunned
what part of the supply / demand equilibrium did you miss in economics class

ask you yourself how can any industry manage to throw away $14.9 billion or 6.9 billion worth of product and still stay profitable ?
the answer is simple it is a rich, lazy protected monopoly

Trump is a paper tiger. He keeps delaying implementation hoping nations will act like you and panic. They aren't. They are all prepared to stick it out.

He won't get deals in time.
the all knowing Svengali Butler1000 is wrong again

Trump announces his first trade deal with the UK. Here's what's in it.
The core of the deal is essentially a trade where the UK will get a lowering of US duties on key sectors. Most in focus are steel — US duties on UK-made steel will drop from 25% to 0% — and car exports, where duties are set to be reduced from 27.5% to 10%

In return, Prime Minister Starmer is offering concessions to open the UK markets more to things like US autos, ethanol, machinery, and agricultural products, as well as unspecified concessions on so-called digital service taxes that hit US tech companies.
In one example, the UK will remove the tariff on ethanol completely.

In a fact sheet, the White House claimed "unprecedented" new access to the UK market, which it said represents a $5 billion opportunity for new exports.

Trump also said the deal includes provisions for streamlined customs procedures for US exports and new economic national security measures. Secretary Lutnick added that Boeing is set to make new purchases of British airport engines as part of the deal.
the US Import market is huge, but Trump intends on shrinking it and carving it up on his terms
expect more deals to happen in the next 60 days
The risks to Canada of following your damn fool " lets wait them out" strategy is Canada could be left without a deal when the music stops
and that would be economically crimpling for Canada

why are you so consistently wrong?

it must be frustrating for you that I am correct ..... again

I'm right. The article states they didn't take into account various waste along the way that a perishable product like milk endures.

And as for the "deal". It's a modification of a few areas, the 10% is still on overall, and as your article states there are tons of details to work out still. So it's not a deal, just a framework of one that will still take months to hash out. And just as I said, watch as a "deal" is announced with Canada that uses the USMCA, tweaks it a bit, he declares victory, and things move on.

Trump has, btw already shrunk the import market by taking money out of consumers hands and taxing them more via tariffs. That is what a tariff is, it's an import tax. And not lowered any income taxes. And the reconciliation bill will only continue to give tax breaks to the rich.

You are being bamboozled.

Are you going to pretend milk is not intentional poured down the drain because of supply management

you are just plain wrong

socialist clap trap totally irrelevant to your strategy of waiting Trump out

please confirm you understand tariff policy is different from income tax deduction policy ?

You are being bamboozled.
your position strategy is Canada should wait Trump out
That position strategy is not going to work as Canada could be left the odd man out without a trade deal by the time the US import market has been divided up

When your position strategy is determined to be a failed strategy you are dead wrong

why are you so consistently wrong?

Trump doesn’t like to admit it…but he needs the foreign countries like china, Japan and Taiwan to buy its government Treasury bonds…those three countries alone own approximately 5-6 trillion $ worth…without them us interest rates would be much higher. …more importantly, without China and the USA having mutual economic interests….the prospect of military conflict increases …even a bigger problem…so I hope some of the adults in the room figure this out. Took trump less than 100 days to really fxxk things up
The conundrum is what do chronic surplus countries do with that money from massive trade surpluses. Please don't say bitcoin or gold. Even if those markets were deep enough (they're not), these are essentially just bookkeeping investment accounts. The gold and bitcoin sellers that wind up with all those dollars have to find a home for them in the U.S. economy. Treasury purchases are liquid and low risk.

Ideally, China, Japan and Taiwan shift to government policy that supports higher consumption levels. Right now, they have built their government policies and their economies around promoting exports.

What you are saying is other countries have to match the USA penchant for overt consumption. That's not realistic.

Many of these smaller countries populations, due to yearly income, just don't have the money to buy anything. Others have a different attitude, a 1000 years old, about life and consumption.

Americans are voracious in comparison. And used to just doing it. You can't go back to post WW2 when the USA was the major game in town as the rest of the world rebuilt.

Carney was very impressive.
He let Trump ramble on for 45 minutes, and stepped in at the right moments to put his diapered ass in place.
I liked how he emphasized and did not back down on the 51st state comments.
Canadians have chosen the right man for the job.
Trump has chosen his right man for the job.
Submissive, quiet, respectful and obedient. Why else would he have endorsed him so much?

I also think it's funny when people say "Canada is not for sale"...I don't think the US has offered to buy it have they?
