The real difference?

When you make fun of Catholics they forgive you..

When you make fun of Muslims they declare a 'jihad' on you, your family, and everyone you know...

It's called being civilized and not acting like murderous barbarians.

The difference? ~600 years. Catholics, about 600 years ago, were a pretty brutal bunch also. Lets just hope Islam is still experiencing some growing pains and will mellow out in the future.

I really think its the region, not the religion...if they were catholics, they would be killing in the name of jesus. If they were Scientologists, they would be killing in the name of LRon. That land is as backward & cursed as the rest of the 3rd class world.

And it's not even so much the killing, but the belief, of both sides, that their killing is moral and civilized.

Sometimes you might have to kill, but never should it be considered "moral" or "civilized" .... sick, sick, sick.

Wise words...terrible acts may be occasionally necessary, but decent human beings will always recognize it as terrible.

I think there should be a worldwide law that would provide for the arrest & immediate execution of any religious leader of any kind calling for the death of anyone. The theocrats have got to be made to understand that ordering their flock to kill will come at a price that all too few (practically none) are willing to pay: Self Sacrifice. If their cause is worth dying for, those bastards should be 1st in line.

The Catholic religion is very good because the priest always tells you that God always forgives you no matter what you do. So if you steal, your forgiven. If you swear your forgiven. If you fuck your forgiven. Although i believe to be forgiven you have to feel bad about what you do. But in many ways its just like playing monopoly and you always have a get out of jail free card.

But with the Muslims, if one of those crazy Ayotola guys finds out you ate a pork sausage for lunch or you tried to look at a pair of tits on the internet he will send some suicide bombers out to kill you in the name of Allah.

Can we start with Pat Robertson, who did just this? And Jerry Falwell, who said 9/11 was God's punishment on us all for being isufficiently intolerant of homosexuals?

Pass this law, and there'll be a lot of very busy hangmen.

Catholic vs. Muslim

Catholicism: God sent his son to die for you.

Islam: God requires you to send your son to die for him.

I was born into a Muslim family.
Went to school a school where Bible Classes were not optional.
As I grew up I investigate Hinduism, Buddism and the Shikh religions.

Any "organized" religion has warnings of doom and gloom if you do not follow their doctrine.

We are all animals and we will attack each other for any gain of power and ownership of land or other valuables. It happens between family, friends, neighbors, countries, etc. We will always continue to act this way.

In the past it was the West and Russia, today it is the West and the "Terrorists". I wonder who will be next.

More jobs....good for the economy.....looks like a win/win. Yes I believe N America should take a look at applying this law internally first.

That's because there's not enough torture involved. They prefer to have their killing done by right wing death squads, or by fooling the poor and uneducated into killing themselves with AIDS.

And beside, a good Catholic should welcome the 9/11 actions ... you know, hastening the rapture and all that.

I can see you are anti_Catholic

Makes your statments blinded by hate.

Ex-Catholics are like ex-smokers, they tend to be the one who are most aginst it. You lost your Faith, but what you lost is still there. All you need do is embrace it.

Well. it's an historical fact that the Vatican supported right wing death squads over the poor in Central America because they considered the cause of helping the poor to share in their countries wealth to be "too communist" (the poor want to have food clothing and shelter, and have their human rights respected, then next thing you know they'll start questioning the authority of the Pope.)

It's an historical and documented fact that the Vatican preaches against the use of condoms for the poor in Africa, and not just preaching that they should practise abstinence, but they go so far as to lie to the poor, telling them that condoms do not prevent AIDS.

A "dork" would be someone with their head up their ass, complaining that the stink he smells is coming from everyone else.

My "faith" in the belief of God, Jesus, or Christianity has nothing to do with whether I respect any specific organized religion.

You "heretics" need to read up on the first commandment.

"I am The Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me."
The Catholic Church, even Christianity itself is not God ... you are worshipping a "false idol" when you stick up for Catholicism, even Christianity itself, when those who claim to be its leaders are so clearly going against the will of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit him/her/it/self.

God, if you claim to be a Christian, is not the Pope, the Catholic Church, or any branch of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or its leader ... those are human creations, and God told you him/her/it/self not to worship human creations above his own word.

If there is a God, I suspect that he/she/it might say to me that despite the fact my belief in him/her/it was small I still understood and believed in his/her/its word; where he/she/it may say to you, your belief in him/her/it was strong, but in spite of that you still ignored his/her/its word ... I suspect your seat in hell will be a bit hotter than mine.

Not that I have to explain my religious status to you, but where do you get "agnostic" or "atheist" out of what I posted?

Following or not following any specific religion is not the same thing as belief or non-belief in God.

Once again the heretics prove their lack of understanding of the "religion" they claim to follow. Putting the "trappings" of their preferred religion ahead of the "word of God".

The "First Commandment" is the FIRST commandment for a reason.
