I recently purchased a Samsung flip phone and it sounds terrible. Like the conversation is occurring in a fish bowl.

This is really the first cell-phone I have owned. Is this normal or are there better phones to out there?

Thanks

PS I have Verizon as a carrier (if that matters)

Verison is not a Canadian Cell company. It may well be a verizon problem. I've had two Samsung phones that were better than most for clarity.

When I used to use Bell, I had a Samsung phone. Replaced 4 times and they all sucked. So in the end I got a Nokia. It worked for 3 years until I terminated my contract with Bell due to dontinuous misbilling (had to call them every month to fix their mistakes)

I ahvae used Bell for more than 10 years & never had a billing problem. I had 2 samsung phones and was happy with each of them.

I like the Motorola phones... hate Nokia and Kyocera... I do have a Blackberry (RIM) and love that too. My friend had a Samsung, couldn't hear anything with it so he threw it away.

Definitely send your phone back.

My NY friend's Verizon phones work just fine in Southern Ontario. Great reception local & long distance. Good thing as they've the free mins plan anywhere in NE U.S. CDN plan, no roaming charges.

When I'm in NYC, the roaming carrier is Verizon, sounds clearer than when I'm calling local within GTA.

How is the signal strength?
Signal strength is fine.

After reading all the posts, I'll take it back for a new one. Maybe it's a defective phone.

It seems like people are talking on a speaker phone that cuts in and out; in addition to the fish bowl sound.

Thanks again.:)

well, the billing was so bad my entire company (the company I used to work for) moved their 103 phone lines to Rogers.
