ManU are in a tough group?

They destroyed Roma last year, and the other teams wont pose too much of a problem.

Arsenal are definitely in an easy group...Lazio will have to do well to progress.

And I also feel poor Rangers will go winless.

ManU v Roma ... given what happened last year in Italy regarding fans, police, tear gas, stabbings, etc. you would figure that UEFA would at least try to avoid another confrontation this early in the stage.

I like the Groups ... same teams spread around, but I usually wait until the knockout stage to see who steps up.

First matchday is Sept 18th.

Yeah except for Sevilla, who I think will actually win this group.

Sevilla wont win at Emirates, nor do I think Arsenal will in Sevilla...but those 2 should progress with ease.

Unless of course AEK Athens turns it around, which I highly doubt...

Liverpool, you are in HUGE trouble...stuttering league form, 1 pt in 3 matches from the CL...uh oh.

And now you get a visit from the young Gunners on Sunday...who are firing on ALL cylinders...so I wonder if anyone thinks they're going to slip out of the top 4 now...

Manchester United have made those in there group look tremendously poor. They have to be strong favourites to win this all. And being a massive supporter, this is great.

What is also great is seeing Liverpool suffer. They have to win all 3 matches to get through potentially. Not happening.

they could still pull it off since the matches are at home, on the flipside someone explain to me the luck of Gooners, they have played barely away in the EPL and sorry taking the tube cross town to play Tottenham doesnt really constitute an away game, and they get a Champions League group that has two joke East Euro teams that were good like 20 years ago, and a Spanish team who had a player die recently, talk about luck!!!

I'd be lying if I said I thought for a minute Arsenal would start like this...but they are winning and winning with style. Last year they would have dropped like 6-7-8 points by now. I wouldn't necessarily call it luck, they're winning the games they're supposed to win.

Liverpool will have 2 of the 3 remaining games at Anfield (@Marseille is the other one)...I am just looking forward to Sunday @noon.

You can only play what's in front of you! That said, Arsenal's biggest problem last year wasn't the other big teams. They dropped points at home to West Ham, Aston Villa, Middlesborough, Portsmouth, Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea. They also lost away at Sheffield, Fulham and Bolton among others. The way I see it, there are 96 points available from non-big four, if you get most of those, you win the league.

I thought this board was for adults?

This could be the year that an English team wins the CL (probably Chelsea), next year Juventus and Bayern Munich will be back in the competition. Mind you, the road to the CL goes through two teams from Milan who play in an inferior league.

you can't be serious about Chelsea. Mourinho left, I would seriously wait until the January transfer window to close to see which players want to leave (Drogba, Lampard) and they have Avram in charge, with no pro licence to coach in the prem. He's so bad, they had to bring in ten Cate as backroom staff. Great addition by the way, he was dynamite implementing his system at Barcelona. Very interested to see what he can do with Chelsea.

Chelsea are last in my books to win out of the English teams. And that's saying a lot with Liverpool struggling mightily. In order, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea.

Furthermore, Milan are struggling in Serie A. They've been nothing short of terrible, with Gillardino playing like crap, Ronaldo out and the team struggling for goals. Also, there team is gettinng up in age. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the the road to the CL goes through either Barcelona or Manchester United.

Bayern Munich will be a contender definitely next year. There squad is awesome and it's a shame they didn't qualify for CL play. I'm expecting them to win the UEFA Cup though.

As for Juventus. I really don't see how think they'll be serious contenders. FFS, they are asking everyone and there grandmother if they'll like to play for them. They lost a lot by getting relegated. Started out the season well and then there game has been exposed. Have been struggling to get wins

The english teams all look in poor shape aside from Ars-nel and Man-U. Liverpool i believe has to lose Benitez. I honestly can't follow and appreciate the UK form of Football. Spain , Argentina and Italy have more interesting Football. I just hope non of the Euro Leagues implode with the amount they are paying high profile players these days. Milan is a retirement Club. they have too many Brazilians, who are most part selfish aside from Kaka and Cafu. The one interesting french talent they have; Gourcuff isn't being fielded enough. I hate draws and penalty kicks to decide games. They should play till they drop fro anothe 20 mins and break and than another 20mins

Why would Liverpool get rid of Benitez, because of a slow start?

You're not going to get rid of a guy who has gotten them 2 Champions Leagues finals in 3 years, and won the FA Cup the other year...I thought this was the year they'd make the jump and be serious title contenders but it's not looking that way right now!

Un-Champions League related but, Arsenal should have beat Liverpool today. They were the better team, hit the post twice (with subsequent misses on OPEN nets), but at least they did get the draw, losing tha game would have been unfair.

Now they face ManU next week...
