Ok, we're into the last 8 of the CL, and the quarter-finals are not too far away. I know the ties have not been announced yet, but what are your dream matchups, and who do you think has the best chance of taking it all.

The last 8 are as follows:

- AC Milan
- Bayern Munich
- Chelsea
- Inter Milan
- Juventus
- Liverpool
- Lyon
- PSV Eindhoven

Here are the matches I would like to see:

(1.) AC Milan vs Chelsea (Milan are the only team I can see beating Chelsea ... maybe Juve also)
(2.) Juventus vs Lyon (Great defense against one of the most attacking sides in the CL)
(3.) Inter vs Bayern
(4.) Liverpool vs PSV

IMO, AC Milan has a very good chance of taking in all. Next in line would be Chelsea followed by Juventus. I have been really impressed with Lyon also ... they could pull off a suprise.

Speculating on matchups is just that. Speculation. Let's talk about matchups when we know who plays who.

A.C. will most likely take it all.
Great game this afternoon, did you see that two man break away and they didn't score. Too much!
Can't wait till Friday when the draw comes up!! :)

Today's match was good. I think I missed the two man break away part. Great goals from Adriano. I thought FC Porto might make a comeback when they scored, but Inter held them back quite well, and the 3rd goal was enough to seal Porto's fate.

I'm also looking foward to Friday's draw. Not a Chelsea fan, so I really want them to be paired with AC Milan.

I personally do not want to see any of the 3 remaining Italian squads or the 2 English sides square off against each other yet. I've watched and seen enough Serie A over the past 15 years to get my fix of the Milan derby and the derby of Italy (Juve vs. Inter), so I'd rather see mixed-up matches. In my dream scenario this would happen:

Milan vs Bayern
Inter vs Liverpool
Juve vs PSV
Chelsea vs Lyon

This would pit the two clubs with great offences but ZERO defense against each other, and it would allow for all 3 Italian clubs to reach the semi's. Just like 2 years ago.

p.s. the_big_e, Inter is not "disfunctional" as you put it...they have wonderful talent and a fantastic coach as well....just because they've been putting up tie's in Italy and only one loss ALL year long doesn't mean they're "disfunctional". If you've followed their European campaign this year, they've decisively beaten oppentents since the opening rounds and have proven their strength, only Porto in the first leg was their only tie, they've beaten everyone else and haven't lost all year long except once to Milan 3 weeks ago in Serie A.

They are still a team to be feared. In my opinion they are 4th toughest behind Milan first, Juve second, and Chelsea third, and Inter a very, very close forth. Although Chelsea will not and cannot match up and score at will against any of these tough and tight Italian defenses. NO WAY IN HELL.

Looking forward to Friday,

So you want to see the finals already played in the quarte-finals????
Makes no sense. I'd rather see the big boys avoid each other till May

They dont have the defense, baller. Inter has a good team but I doubt they'll go much further with their leaky defenders

I thought we already saw that in the second round .... Barca vs Chelsea. :D

It's just that I don't want Chelsea making it to the semi-final.

I follow Serie A.

Inter hasnt won since 1989.

Maybe disfunctional is a bit harsh, but they are from a solid team. 17 draws already? They tie games they should win, and they've done things in the wackiest of ways this season, maybe thats what I mean by disfunctional. Coming back to beat Sampdoria in the last 6 minutes, tying Parma away with 10 men things like that. Thats why it boggles the mind they cant win games in the full 90 minutes, they do everything the hard way. They are SO unpredictable. Of the Italian teams left, they're the only ones I like to watch on a regular basis...

you're right big_e....

Inter is unpredictable....not disfunctional....just unpredictable. They can look really powerful at times but then they have mental lapses. But they do make for some exciting football to watch though. I think that they'd be a perfect match for Chelsea. but if they get paired up with either Juve or Milan, they will lose for sure. good defense beats good offense everytime.

now Roma...they're disfunctional. 3 coaches this year, they have the top scorer in Serie A (Montella) plus they have 2 of the biggest sucks and spoiled brats in the league (Totti and Cassano). as an Italian, these two guys bug the crap out of me probably because they're sooo talented but they're to concerned about themselves and how the ref calls the match then with their own team. if they could only shut up and suck it up and stick to showing off their skills....they'd be great players and Roma would be back up there in the standings again.

can you tell that i'm a Lazio fan???

Roma sucks,
