and there's plenty of mis-information on the news services. at a minimum, after they implement the fix which only came available 2 days ago, we need to change the passwords on all important accounts. every account would be better but some of us have way to many. so...email and banks first. then social. then odds-and-ends. the hard part will be knowing when they are fixed.

Absolutely nothing to do with Windows XP or Microsoft. This is a vulnerability in OpenSSL, an open source implementation of the SSL and TLS protocols commonly distributed with Linux / apache.

Damn, so I can't blame Microsoft (the killer of XP) for this one.
