Hey DistantVoyeur, I appreciate your policeman like manner but I can read too and there's nothing here that says that it has to be 4 words, the rule is change one letter, nothing about the length of the word; the difference between star and rates is exactly one letter, and I can count too

Huh?? Change one letter??? How do you get add or subtract??? if you add a letter you have not changed any of the letters in the previous post, they will still be the same. Subtract maybe, by changing it into nothing but then the thread would be dead as everyone deletes a letter down to nothing.
