I don't know much about Charlie Kirk, some are comparing him to Horst Wessel.

Wessel was a member of the Nazi SA, he was shot to death in 1930. He's considered a martyr to the cause, I find that laughable. Had Wessel lived long enough, he would have been caught up in The Night of the Long Knives. He would have been eliminated along with Ernst Rohm.

mandrill is dismissing Kirk's oratory and debate skills. I sense Kirk was also a very good organizer, but it's hard to know if he just had good organizers with him.

Saying someone will be replaced is not the same as saying they aren't talented. They still also might be exceptional and someone else exceptional will follow him. Another tell is how the organization Turning Point survives without its founder. If it's built to survive his death, that is a Kirk accomplishment.

As far as the college dropout criticism, I'm not sure why that's relevant. He found his calling at an early age and accomplished what he wanted to without completing college.

The progressive zealots think that all of us who are saddened by his death and the vitriol here were completely down with everything Kirk supported. That is far from the truth. I would feel the same way if someone harmed AOC a young star on the left. She's a good progressive comp for Kirk. She started young and didn't have a lot of accomplishments outside political activism. Sadly, AOC has had to beef up her security.

Crazy how much soccer costs now (OPDL) in the thousands of dollars compared to when I was young. I’ll still put my kids in soccer when I have them but the costs associated with it has me wondering where the money will come from
