Best thing to do to lower food costs is buy a freezer. And set up a pantry cupboard. And watch for sales. My local grocery will always have something on sale.

Butter below 5 buck, max number in cart. 6 pork crops for 12 bucks, in go two packs and later separate into ziplocks. Taco kits a buck off, get three.

Next think is a slow cooker. I use mine to create soups that I freeze, pasta sauce, stews, all labeled with a date. Also when cooking rice make larger portions, freeze them as well.

A probably save, on a two person household, maybe 1000 bucks per year, and that all goes into prime meats cuts from butchers so I can enjoy my food as well.

That 2 buck chop pays for the lamb rack.

Butter for under $5 no way. I just went to No Frills and paid $8.99. The cheapest I've seen is $6.99 on sale.

Making butter is very easy at home.
Its hard to get cheap and healthy
rice, beans, frozen, veggies, bananas, tofu, etc. can sub for more expensive items. Cheap, healthy, and delicious meals are definitely possible.

I still like KD
As long as you go at at maybe once a month as a treat sure. Add them hotdogs too!":

But add some sliced tomato, cucumber and radishes on the side, make a simple oil/vinegar dressing with a sprinkle of oregano, garlic powder and lemon pepper(these are the three go to things for seasining in my kitchen).

And it's all good.

I love the beef hotdogs too specially those from costco. But they're probably worst than KD.

Just went for a quick Thankgiving shop for sides and found chicken legs, 10 for about 5 bucks. Two packs in the freezer we go. Simple breading, olive oil brush, good to go. And extra legs in the fridge to gnaw on for snacking. Love cold chicken.
