It is much easier to defend a position vs attacking it. To date, the majority of Taiwanese have voted for a status quo although I suspect if China stopped acting like a spoiled bully everytime Taiwan is mentioned as a country, the vote would be to formally declare independence.

For anyone to believe this has got to have a mental acuity of a 4 year old. Also, it is literally against the law to setup a secret police station without informing appropriate authorities to help combat perceived transnational crimes.
