I only heard found on the bathroom floor. Nothing about a band around his neck.

I could not imagine dying that way. I have a little experience in the "not being able to breathe until you pass out" and let me tell that fear of death because of lack of oxygen is not nice. Now maybe wanting to die might be different but your body goes into automatic save me mode.

I was never able to understand death by any type of suffocation after that. Drowning scares the crap out of me. For someone to choose to go out this way just does not compute with me.

I've had the opposite experience. Lack of oxygen would be a peaceful death. You just lose consciousness, like falling into an abrupt deep sleep. When you want to die, you're not scared. You're scared only when you want to live.
