I've had the opposite experience. Lack of oxygen would be a peaceful death. You just lose consciousness, like falling into an abrupt deep sleep. When you want to die, you're not scared. You're scared only when you want to live.
Nope Nope Nope, couldn't do it! LOL No way in hell. Peaceful loss of consciousness is a bunch of bills with some liquid courage.

You are right though, if you are serious about dying, you probably don't have any fear.

Saw him do a solo acoustic show a few years back at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Just an awesome performer

Posted a thread but deleted it when I saw this one. R.I.P. to the best voice in modern rock.

His family refutes the assertion that he knowingly and willingly killed himself. Accident? Murder?

Considering how much of an introvert he was, I was surprised that he did so many interviews with Howard Stern. Three times in all, I listened to the last two intently. I don't think it was accidental, did he also suffer from chronic depression?

"I'm looking California and feeling Minnesota"

As a vocalist, no one outshined Chris Cornell - unbelievable chord progression!

Almost certainly. He spoke of it often over the years and was resigned to it.
Reports that he was using an anti anxiety med, presumably to help him come down off the elation post show is somewhat troublesome.
No word I have seen on anti depressants meds though.

There could be some truth to that, anti-anxiety medication is notoriously easy to fuck up. If it's gotten wrong the side effects can be dire.

Vanishing Point!

This updated Guardian article mentions that he was on Ativan.
Wife said when she spoke to him after the show he seemed to be slurring his words and that he "may have taken an extra 1 or 2".
The stigma associated with suicide though family members will tend to downplay or deny intention.
Need to wait for toxicology report.

To make sure Ativan is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

seizures or epilepsy;
kidney or liver disease (especially alcoholic liver disease);
asthma or other breathing disorder;
open-angle glaucoma;
a history of depression or suicidal thoughts or behavior;
a history of drug or alcohol addiction; or
if you use a narcotic (opioid) medication.

It's sad that he left a wife and daughters behind.

Surprised nobody posted this one:
