Just installed Chrome and was playing around with it. It seems nice and snappy. Only thing is can't find where the 'bookmarks' or 'favs' are. They are not on the default home page. Where are the bookmarks on Chrome?
Been using Opera ~12 yrs and still like it better than slower FF. Just started playing around with Chrome. Chrome is nice but so far I'm just more used to Opera.I used to use Opera quite a bit back in '95 when i also had netscape and IE. Opera had tabbed browsing LONG before anyone else. I have a feeling woodie you just love to support the underdog.
This is another reason I like to have a few different browsers installed. If one won't let you into some site you can always try that site with a different browser. For Windows I have IE, FF, Opera. On Linux there is FF, Opera, Chrome and SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey is a lot like the old Netscape browser from 10 yrs ago. There is always a way around censoring, even in China as you discovered. What I've been finding is that I can't access my Gmail via IE but I can using Chrome.
Chrome is still kinda new with a few bugs to be worked out yet.I couldnt get CHROME to log me in to Yahoo - kept returning to the login page.
My VPN (Witopia) gets around the usual stuff, like Blogs and Facebook, but some sites are actually slower through the VPN, like Yahoo. This morning I had no problem connecting to Gmail via IE, but then realized I had the VPN turned on.There is always a way around censoring, even in China as you discovered.
