Garrett, my thoughts exactly. One of my professors was involved in the invention of a type of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance using the stable isotope of Fluorine F19.......he was a damned genius if I ever met one. But at no time did he ever profess to being a smart guy, or a genius or smarter than anyone in the class. In fact, he asked me to help him because he often made careless mistakes, and was a bumbling fool when it came to doing labwork. I was far from the brightest in class, not that I need to tell you all that, but I helped him, and he was a frickin genius. Again, he at no time said he was one.
Oh, and he was quite socially inept too. He was always uncomfortable around people, and made me uncomfortable too. Kind of like the nutty professor, only smart.
