Computer help - Outlook

Would someone please tell me what the problem is here. I am trying to send three jpeg files as attachments to an email. Total file size is approximately 112 kb. The files are on the email and they can be opened but no one receives the files. Only a Winmail.dat file

You go to sent items, open the attachments and the jpeg pictures are there as being sent. What gives?

I am running Windows 98 and Office 2000. I am also running on cable to my ISP - Cogeco.

I had to revert back to a #2 computer and Outlook always performed properly before.

Do I have to send Bill Gates more money? Is this because I didn't buy the long term warranty?

Really Retired.....REALLY!
If I am reading your post correctly you sent the email form another computer and it arrived to the recipients with the jpg's attached?

But from your other computer all that was recived was the .dat file?

No, I sent the email to multiple receipiants from my computer. The files were attached as jpegs and were inserted. The recipients never received the jpegs attached to the email yet when I check, the email is in the Outlook sent box with the jpegs attached as one would expect.

The jpegs were not transmitted, only a dat file.

Let me have a go at this one...

Greetings,

Try the following and see what happens.

1. Turn on the delivery and read receipts.
2. Send to yourself. You will then see what is being received.
3. Send to an alternate email that you have access to.
4. Can you send properly to anyone sans attachments?
5. Try sending one jpeg at a time.

Hope that was somewhat useful.

P.S. Sometimes OutLook should really be called LookOut!
