computer problem - hotmail

I have been unable to access the hotmail server, for the past month, using my Verizon DSL connection. I've spoken with Verizon tech support and the say it must be a hotmail problem since I can access the rest of the web without a problem.

I've change my Internet Explorer security setting to the lowest possible and still have been unable to get in.

I'll try anything at this point.

I can login just fine with other connections.

There should be a file called 'hosts' somewhere on your drive - open it using notepad and see if there is a reference to the site you're trying to get to. Remove the entry and save the file.

problem solved

my problem was with my router setup. there is a MTU setting which needed to be adjusted. I beleive this controls the size of the data packet being transmitted. some sites can' t handle certain sizes. a slight adjustment and I was on my way.
