Yes, but is it true that Mac's have less problems than PC's?
Yes. Since my switch from Windows to Mac, I have noticed I spend less time maintaining or fixing and more time being productive.

However, what do you use your PC for? If it's for playing games, stick with Windows. If you use a very specialized piece of software that only runs on Windows, stick with Windows (you could run it in virtualized on the Mac).

It's Nice Being M$ Free

Yes. Since my switch from Windows to Mac, I have noticed I spend less time maintaining or fixing and more time being productive.
Since my switch from M$ to Linux, I have also noticed I spend less time, more like NO TIME, maintaining or fixing and more time being productive.

No need run endless security scans for viruses, spyware, malware.
No need to Defrag.
No Registry to maintain/repair.
No need to format HDD periodically to clear out all the crap that accumulates in Windows, slowing it down.

You just turn on your PC and run it worry free, like a PC was meant to be, surfing ANY sites you desire!
And best of all Linux & all Linux software is FREE and didn't cost a penny.....

Right on cue. Thanks 8-Ball. 'Cue', '8-Ball', sorry that was not intentional. I didn't think about it. It just came out.

So, you never recompile your kernel for new hardware or bother to upgrade from one release to another - let's say Jaunty Jackalope to Karmic Koala?

I recall you posting that you've done this. And upgrading your OS is system maintenance. Don't be a shill. =)

Of course I do and it DIDN'T COST A PENNY!
It's no big deal with Linux and a lot easier than with M$!
Upgrades are required on ALL systems, M$, Mac & Linux.....no big whup really .....at least with Linux.....

That's my point. That's why I said I do less maintenance on my Mac. It's pretty much system updates. When I had Windows, it was defragging the hard drive, it was running registry cleaners, ensuring my anti virus and spyware was current, dealing with random crashes, etc.

No need to spin like Rush. =)

Without going all off-topic and in response to Kayla, you're doing all the same things here as with Linux. And don't be fooled by the fanboi, a lot of Mac software is free and virtually all of the Linux stuff can be run on a Mac too.

This is true and one of the big jokes in the Linux community. The Linux community has always joked that Mac is basically a Linux distro you have to pay for...

Ya, but they're easily entertained being the small close knit community that they are, quite possibly related to each other.

Ditto that....after figuring out what makes a Windoz PC tick.

You have to do your homework with M$ because that minefield is only getting trickier.
Or you can migrate to Linux and kiss those worries bye bye!...
