Computer Problem???

Ayone know anything about computers, my comuter seems to be on LSD!
The colors keep changing and when I go to a web sight, if flashes all different colors for about two seconds, then everything is alright.
But the colors are not right, seems to be much sharper then before.
I did several virus scans "McAfee" and it didn't find anything.
Do you think it's a virus or just a computer problem?
Maybe time to junk it and get a new one!

Computer Problems.

It's an old desk modle, CRT type I think, with a G Force card, ols Yamaha sound card.
It started last night as I was on the net, the screen, jumped to 640-480 pixels. Had reajust, shut down, restarted and that's when the LSD affect started. I don't have to be on the net for it to happen.
I went to word and my wallpaper got all bright colors, like a 60's poster.
I now notice that some of the colores are off. Like here on Terb, there is a slight color haze in the background on the letters!!

I would check the socket where the monitor is plugged in, to see if it's loose. If the video card slightly wiggles, could be the video card. You would need to open up the system and firmly slide the card back in. If that doesn't help, remove the card from the motherboard and turn on the computer and let the onboard video to see if it's better. If not then, it's could be the monitor. Do you have another monitor or know anyone with a monitor? Try another one.

Oh you could run a test on the video card. I have a ATI card and when I had a problem, I downloaded a test program from their website onto a floppy disc for boot up.
Don't know if Nivida has one.
