All of a sudden, my computer seems really slow. The hard drive is constantly chattering away, making me think something is keeping it really busy. But what? My CPU usage is low, I've got McAfee and several other anti-virus scanners running that don't detect anything. I've cleaned out my temp files. I've rebooted several times. Windows is up to date.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have spyware.

To solve your problem, download the following software:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

NOTE: When you run adaware, after the scan is complete, right click in the window to select all items, then delete all.

I have adaware, spybot and Norton anti-virus, but still have some embedded browser hijackers. They seem to originate from my e-mail accounts and show up in my registry values even after being quarantined and eliminated.

Anyone know how to permanently remove them?

Thanks.
