Internet Antivirus Pro
Is it Internet Antivirus Pro?
Internet Antivirus Pro is online fraud and a computer parasite. It spreads through software exploits (usually via web browser vulnerabilities), but it may also trick people into downloading this useless software manually. InternetAntivirusPro uses online advertisements to attract customers and make them interested in buying this malware.
When installed, InternetAntivirus Pro starts loading many pop-ups with security-related content. It usually reports security and privacy risks or displays results of system scan. All these messages are fabricated to scare people into purchasing the full version of Internet Antivirus Pro. Do not trust pop-ups loaded by InternetAntivirus Pro! This program is not an anti-virus; it mimics anti-virus applications in order to get money.
InternetAntivirusPro may slow down computers performance and internet connection.
Just got rid of this malware in my sister's XP PC.
She picked it up using either IE or FF browser.
It resists all AV apps and Ad-Aware/Spybot Search & Destroy, et al, attempts to remove it.
The way I got rid of it was:
Went into, C > Programs Files.
Then found the Folder called 'Internet Antivirus Pro'
Created a 'new folder' next to Internet Antivirus Pro, then dragged the Internet Antivirus Pro folder into this new folder.
Then rebooted the PC.
Then went back into, C > Programs Files and deleted this 'newly created folder' with Internet Antivirus Pro inside and problem was solved and she has no more popups telling her the PC is at risk.
I then put Ubuntu 8.10 on her PC, as a dual boot system with XP and told her to learn it, so she wouldn't have to worry anymore about all that Windows spyware/malware/anti-virus crap any longer.
