I'm heading through TO tonight, going to Ottawa to camp out outside Daniel Alfredsson's house for the weekend hoping to get a glimpse of his dreamy hair and hockey stick.

Anyways...

What's the 401 (EB) like these days? Should I bother heading down that way or should I take th 407? I need to know soon because if I take the 407 I'll need to remortgage the house before I leave...

ETA around 7-8ish.

Thanks in advance for your help/snide remarks.

The 401 is usually not too bad, actually, especially 7-8pm, but this is the start of the long weekend, and you may hit a bottleneck around the Hwy 400 area. It shouldn't be too bad, though, as half of Toronto has already left for cottage country. On the way back, avoid the collectors around the Yonge area and take the expressway. Really long construction delay. Have a good weekend!

Thanks RogerRabbit and Falconer for the info.

Fang: If you're driving on the 407 and you see an 87 Hyundai Pony drive by with a guy waving his enormous dick out the window at you, I'm probably about 5 cars back.

401 is all gummed up...

I would stay as far away from 401 as I could if I was you.

Seems to all gummed up with too much traffic day and night.

You can always check CP24 for live traffic checks.

P.S. Don't let that gum on your shoe get your foot stuck to the gas pedal - they are doing a blitz this weekend.

Bad weekend for 401 EB unless you left b4 1pm, you're screwed around Whites for at least an hour due to volume.

Leave late if ya can, 'cuz early is over.

Sadly the 407 doesn't go east enough yet.

Say hi to Alfie and his man lover. LOL

The 401 is currently closed east of Toronto, near Port Hope and everything is backed up to Oshawa. There are no alternative so you better stay home!

About which part...the 401 is currently closed or staying home? Actually, serious on both accounts.

I'll listen to the traffic update in a few minutes and give you an update.
