Does $1,400 include statement prep? How many corporations?

I've used Quicktax Inc (along with Quickbooks). Really easy, step by step instructions.
$1,400 includes the T2 and CT23 for one corporation. I'm a computer programming contractor, so it's pretty straightforward for him, I'd imagine.

Does Quicktax do the CT23 as well as the T2?

Yes.

Holy sh!t, you're getting hosed. If it's a straightforward business (no inventory; just revenue and office expenses), you should be able to do it yourself. An accountant should be able to do it for a few hundred if the statements are already prepared.

Let me know if you want some names/numbers.
When you say 'statements', what do you mean?

I do all my own bookeeping: I just give him my expenses, salary at the end of my fiscal year and he preperes the two returns, also the T4 summary.

What do you think is a reasonable price for that?

Next to the money pit.
If you thought $1400 was pricey you haven't seen much. I know a CGA billing a client $2500 for one corporate tax return. The CGA was pretty much providing a lot of individual attention to this client. In the end, the client thought he was receiving good value for his money.

$1,400 is around the standard price for that level of service if he's preparing financial statements and some adjusting entries.
