Think Miss Tiffany is from Hamilton so is probably not familiar with TTC. One thing I hate is when both trains pull up to the same station and unload all their passengers at the same time, especially during rush hour.

Age 17 I was masturbated on by an older man on the TTC when it was very busy. Very distrubing.
You're just mad because now you realize you can get paid for that sort of shit.

I have ridden the TTC to both attend university and work for years now. None of my stories are anywhere close to being as crazy as the earlier posters, but I do have a few worth sharing:

(1) One time on my way home from work, I was sitting across from the identical twin sister of actress Jill Hennessy (from Law & Order and Crossing Jordan), Jacqueline Hennessy, the editor of Chatelaine. I spoke to her briefly and she chuckled how she gets mistaken for her sister all the time!

(2) Another time when I was at Yonge & Bloor station, one young Asian lady came up to me and was tried to ask me to take a picture of her and her group of friends (ostensibly tourists in Toronto). She had a difficult time expressing herself in English, and apologized for being Japanese. Being fluent in the language, almost without thinking I replied to her in Japanese that I would gladly take a group photo. I will never forget the look of shock on her face!! :D

It does happen that one see "public figures" on the subway. I remember seeing Donovan Baily once and was surprised that he is taller in person than on TV (you know what I mean).

I miss the good old TTC since I came back to NL.

One afternoon a guy sat next to me and scaring the shit out me because it had one huge mother fucking white snake wrapped around his shoulders. I yelled telling him I was terrified of snakes, he laughed and moved to another seat!!

At Eglinton station while waiting for the last North bound train some ttc workers in the tunnel by the north platform shorted something electrical causing an explosion. I was looking right there way and could see the flash explosion and smoke. I thought it was a bomb at first. The ttc guys were ok but were very shaken up.

The fastest stretch in the ttc line is between Finch and North York Centre. The driver was going so fast one day- it felt like 80 mpg-I thought the train had lost the brakes.

I switched subway cars a few times because of the sicking smell from a homeless person.

Attacked by four black-yes african black- youths. Just some pushing and shoving but the dead look in their eyes was jsut like you see in young teenagers fighting wars in Africa. Frightening!!

a couple of times coming home on the subway after drinking downtown I've come across bums fighting, guys chugging and then chucking tallboys down the subway car, gotten a couple of different chicks numbers and even have seen David Miller riding subway

some kids sniffing lacquer thinner from Islington to Jones. The subway car reeked.

Guy comes up to me and says he really needs a hug.

A large white bear, perhaps a wee bit intoxicated or just happy, with a rainbow scarf.

I have not taken the subway in years, I used to ride it every day, I much prefer not being poor. A guy sat down opposite me who looked exactly like me, it was like looking in the mirror. He noticed it too, it appeared to freak him out also, I took off. In Manhattan, the rats in the subway are huge, and right there. I had never noticed them here, but in Manhattan, you can't miss them.

I remember when the Jays won the World Series (was in high school at the time).....
Me and my buddies decided to go downtown right after they won....Apparently half the city decided to do that as well.....

Everybody was smoking and drinking in the subway - Nobody was giving a shit....It was so smokey you couldn't even see the other end of the subway car...

I ride the TTC every day during those months when ridding my bike is not an option.

I've never witness anything really crazy, but I've been groped a few times.

One of those times, during rush hour, I feel a hand gropping my ass. I turned around to slap the offender, and see that he was a kid, around 12 years old maybe. Instead of slapping him, I asked him very loudly where the fuck he was raised to think that groping women in the TTC is OK, that this was abuse, that he was too young to be such a fucking asshole already, etc. Then, out of the blue, this man behind him grabed him and slapped him, and start yelling at him.

The man was his father, and he was pissed. He apologized profusedly to me, and forced his now sobbing kid to apologize to me as well.

I like to think that this kid learned his lesson and that he will never again grope a woman.

Slapping and yelling at a minor is child abuse and is a legally obligated reportable incident.

That is pretty unbelievable ... you'd have to wonder if the kid was seriously autistic, not to be able to resist that impulse, considering the circumstances!

From my experience working with autistic kids, this one surely was not.

I think he was just a 'normal' kid who thought he could get away with it.

Why are we not getting any good lost and found stories? Anybody found a wooden leg, set of false teeth, AK47, Egyptian mummy, money, etc.

I found a lady's purse once and turned it in to the fare collector's booth.
