I was watching the Mindfreak marathon today on TV. In particular, there was one episode that focused on levitation. E.g. He makes himself levitate a few feet off the ground on a sidewalk with a bunch of people around watching. Any idea how he does this??

I seen it as well. I seen them all actually. I'm a big fan. He has so much control over his body that it's actually quite amazing. Apparently he's been at this since he was quite young. A few months back he stopped his heart for about a minute or so. He had five nurses with him and each one had they're fingers on a pulse point and they started the countdown when they couldn't feel his pulse anymore.WILD EH! To answer your question,no,I don't know how he does that.I wish I did.

I think there has to be more to it than that. The only way that could be true is if the "bystanders" are all paid actors, which I don't think is the case. I think that would undermine his credibility.

There's a "third leg" prop that he leans forward and rests on. Camera angle plays a big part. So too do paid extras and sly editing.

So, how do you explain Criss Angel making a total stranger in the park levitate? With an audience? If there's a prop, where is it when a hand or something is waved under him? Not only does he levitate straight up^but he also levitates lying down.

He uses magic.

Don't be naive. We're not in the Middle Ages anymore.

The short answer is, I don't. I have better things to do than analyze illusions. Google it and you'll find out if you don't believe it's props and camera work.

However he is doing it, he is good. I saw him walk into a bar and have someone finish a bottle of beer and put the empty bottle on the table. He then by "magic" has a large object transferred into the bottle.

He is supported by really thin wires when crossing in mid-air from building to building, and when walking up/down the side of a building. He also uses a 3rd(fake) leg when he looks like he is floating off the ground. There are some videos online showing this somewhere but I forget where it is.

drlove,

Yeah, Cris Angel is definitely good at what he does. While I don't pretend to understand how he does all of the tricks, I do believe that SOME of them on the show might be the result of some helpful camera editing. If you check the internet, you'll find a video clip that he's released (I'm pretty sure it was him, anyway) with an explanation of the levitation trick...of course the explanation would teach you how to do it in a room with people facing you---not on the sidewalk with an audience all around you (that's where I think the camera editing comes into play)...

While this has been discussed in other threads, for those that still believe in him, DON'T. Those "innocent" bystanders are paid actors. Any "happenstance" where he does anything with any innocent bystander is pure bullshit, they are all paid to be there.

Whenever you see one of his stunts he is basically filming a skit where everyone has lines to say, where to look, how to act, etc. It is all rehearsed. Everyone you see on camera is part of the cast.

There is more info on the previous threads, do a search and read up on him there.

As for him stopping his heart: I can stop my heart and have 500 "nurses" witness it, as long as I paid them to say: there's no pulse, there's no pulse on cue. If you believe that those were real nurses, and weren't in on it, you also must believe that Tobie MaGuire can shoot spider webs out of his wrists and swing through the streets of New York.

I saw David Blaine do the street levitation thing in Chicago. It looked amazing. When I tried go behind him to see how he did it A 300lbs black lady pushed infront of me and started screaming "oh my god he's levitating!" Everywhere i went she was infront of me blocking my view of his feet. I think they spot people in the crowd who are observing things and distract and block. I wish I could of seen his feet from the back, but she was good and I just gave up and enjoyed the show.
