Sidney Crosby will miss significant amount of games again. Suffering from concussion like symptoms after the Boston game last week, Crosby is back on the IR.
How long this time ?
Now I am wondering if he should consider retirement.

Shit! I just started a thread on this the same time you did.

Anyways I say he should retire NOW.

Ironhead's thread title is significantly less misleading than yours.

It's unfortunate, seems like he is running out of his 9 lives and he is too concussion prone now to continue.. One more instance like this and he would be crazy not to hang them up.

What amazes me about these Crosby stories is the number of comments that follow where the writers call Crosby a wimp or a sissy and not tough enough. He sustained a brain injury that will never be fully treatable, I don't think it is something you would be able to avoid if you were "tougher" and to make a choice not to risk your long term health does not make you a wimp. It's madness...

He's only 24 and yet, odds are, he's done.

Tragic.

His career cut short by a goon. Crosby was exactly what hockey needed and now he most likely is finished. He simply cannot take the pounding.

How sad what hockey has become. Idiots like Bettman and Cherry promoting circuses on ice. Turning hockey into a cross between World Wrestling and Roller Derby on ice skates.

Can't wait to hear Cherry call Crosby a pussy.

Yummy! He's a cutie. I get wet just thinking about him.

This is all media sensationlism. He will be back and he's got too much heart not to overcome this.

It's not his heart that is the issue here.

I would not say Crosby was done in by a GOON.

The whole play was a glancing, turning play with Steckel catching him - I believe inadvertantly.

Heck...it did not take a head shot to knock him out this time...he hit HIS OWN PLAYER.

Accidents happen...whether against the opposition or your own player. Such is life.

When they sat him for 2 games last week they said it had nothing to do with the concussion.

See Guy, other teams lie as well. Not just Wilson.

Difference is that Crosby has a Stanley Cup ring:thumb:
...and Crosby's contract must have compensation for concussions that will secure him for the rest of his life. There goes to show you the safest professional sports athletes are MBL players and NBA players and they are highest paid. NHL and NFL players do not make much of a salary and are injury prone for early retirement.
