Mind you, a chica is not to be seen in the streets with a tourist hombre. On one evening with my friend and our chicas (not with the supermodel), we were asked by the taxi driver to leave the vehicle cuz he saw a policia ahead. I indulged in a 45 minute massage session at my hotel (20 CUC). Although I tried to get a HJ with a tip, the masseuse chica was professional throughout. I still tipped her. My only regret was that I saw her on the last day. Her entire body massage, both front and back, was therapeutic and professional. And no, no bodyslide or the sort, and she kept her clothes on. This was odd for me too. The same girl 4 nights in a row. I didn't do that even with my last girlfriend (that was an awkward and no love association).

Yes, the locals are not supposed to mix or be with tourists, although it is confusing at times. Some girls seem to go with tourists without a care, others are terrified. One girl showing me to a bank was apprehended by the police and taken to the local station. Simply for walking with me in Havana in the daytime!

You are able to register girls into your hotel, but some are even scared of this as the rules change in Cuba so often that they are afraid that if they change again, the police will just go to the hotels, take their names and have an easy arrest list.

Thee are no easy answers for Cuba, if you go, just always be aware that any girl and even some guys are risking jail time for spending time with you. Discretion is always the key in Cuba.

The laws have changed, as long as the biggest Pimp, Fidel (or brother Raul) get a cut. I brought my 1st gal to my hotel and greased a security guard 40 CUCs, but with my 'steady gf', I paid the 60 CUCs charge by the hotel (sometimes you can't always bypass the reception desk). They will take the girls name and phone # and give her a pass card, and you can take her into your hotel room and shake the roof off the hotel. The info I was told is kept confidential.

However, if a 'chica' is seen with you in a taxi, the police might arrest her (to restrict it to the hotels where Castro get's his cut). I had to abandon a taxi with my chica when the driver saw a policia up ahead.

Even though I paid the 60 CUC for my 'novia', she wanted to ensure that there were no police waiting outside. With the coast clear, I escorted her to the lobby and paid for her taxi home.

I doubt that they will use that info at the registration desk to arrest the gals, as I think it's basically a safety measure if not just for revenue generation (like a tax). I was in a private taxi and he refused to drive me and the girl at the same time in case he was stopped and accused of abetting prostitution. This from a guy who regularly had tourists bring beer and sandwiches to smooth things with the cops so he could drive the tourists through the police control points.

Some of the girls are not as stressed as others about having their carnet documented at the hotel and seem to enjoy the luxury of the all inclusives more than they would the casas.

You don't have a choice sometimes as to which casa these girls suggest or take you too. Most were sort of disgusting.

I paid the premium to have her in a nice hotel room with hot water, clean towels, etc. without any hassle from security or hotel staff who treated her as my guest and with respect. They gave her a guest card, so it's all on the up and up. I took two different girls to my hotel room. We also invited chicas by the pool (just to lounge around in - the hotel allows it provided you pay 20 CUC without documentation since you're not going to sleep with them outside by the pool). No risk.

However, we did 'shop' for casas for our future travels which can be had for 35 to 40 CUC per room/per day/per person with a swimming pool. It is a better deal of course as you advise Don Draper. But while I was there at my hotel, I made an exception for this exceptional young lady who never took anything nor asked about gifts like the other one did.

Most chicas will suggest a casa that they know. You will pay 20 CUC to the owner of the casa for the time you spend with them (basically, just for the encounter). In one case, I had to wait in a living room with my chica for my friend to finish cuz there was only one room. In each case of a rented room, you're not guaranteed cold water, a working shower head, or even a bath tub. Only one room was nice, but his shower head didn't work, so I had to use my hands and the bath faucet to wash myself as did the chica. He was a nice owner though. He left a condom labelled 'Love' by the night table but I brought my own. HOwever, to get to that casa, it would take 10 CUC one trip. Therefore, you're going to spend 40 CUC by the time you're done, if not more if you pay extra for her cab fare. That's why I paid 40 (grease) or 60 (reception) CUC for my comfortable and clean and private hotel room which allowed me to spend hours with my 'novia'.

I used to LOVE Cuba. LOVED it! I missed out on the real Golden Era of twenty years ago but was there for the 2001-2006 era.

Now, I simply can't see it being worth the hassle, cost and being seen as an ATM by everyone. Third world service, second world facilities and first world prices.
