Just watched the D-Day Ceremony from France with the arrival of Prime Minister Harper to honour those who gave their lives fighting for freedom and democracy while back home in Canada his government is pissing on their graves by introducing Bill C-36 the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act that is the most fascist attack on those freedoms that so many heroic Canadians gave their lives fighting for. Well done Mr. Harper, Mr. MacKay and your colleagues but I don't think my family members who gave their lives in the two Great Wars and the Korean War would consider your attempt to force your moralistic views on all Canadians was what they died for.

Get where you are coming from but it is a bit of a stretch to say our ancestors fought for the "right to pay for sex". Hardly a noble cause especially in the eyes of their wives back home. And therein lies the problem. No one will stand up and fight for this one at least from the customer perspective.

Harper is however pissing on their graves given his shoddy treatment of our current vets.

Umm...that was a long time ago, they were probably pretty conservative in their values.

Also, ya...these two things are connected

I think you need to spend some time acquainting yourself with what "facist" means.

And honestly, stop using soldiers, sailors and airmen as platforms for your politicking and rhetoric. I served, I have friends that have died, you don't know any of them or what they fought for. I can tell you that every single soldier, sailor or airman that dies in combat is giving his life for his comrades in arms. That is the one certainty we know. Besides that, their reasons for being there are as varied as there are people in Canada. Some would argue that elected officials are doing their job, others would tell you they don't give a shit about Canadian politics, others still would probably support Bill C-36. Frankly, you're pissing on their graves a lot more than Bill C-36 is by trying to use them to push your own political agenda.

Shame on you, trtinajax.

Just curious, when you served (and good for you, btw) did you get to to use any crazy futuristic technology?

You know, like...lasers?...maybe even blue lasers?

(Say what you want, but that question still isn't as dumb as the OPs post)

Not visible lasers. Laser-guided munitions we had a lot of though.

Thank God that there are some keyboard warriors who won't stand for this insult, and will honour the memories of those of the greatest generation who made the ultimate sacrifice by fighting in their name for the right to fuck someone and pay for it without being branded a criminal. ...assholes.
