Another Danica, Danica McKellar, who played Winnie Cooper with Fred Savage on The Wonder Years, ended up as a math whiz. She graduated summa cum laude from UCLA, and was involved with a math theorem which proved aspects of magnetism in two dimensions. Winnie didn't seem all that bright on the show. I guess that was good acting.

Her lower body weight, compared to the other IRL drivers, certainly helps in qualifying. I don't think she's strong enough to win a road course, But she's certainly capable of winning an attrition race, if she's on the right out-of-sequence pit stop strategy.Aardvark154 said:

The biggest weakness I've seen in her driving is that she tends to drop several spots on the leader board in the initial stages of the race, but that is tied to the fuel and tire conservation to a large extent. She'll drop down to around 12th place, then work her way back, past the same cars who had passed her.
To win, she'll need a race where there are multiple yellow flag/pace car incidents, preferably where top placed cars take each other out. If, for example, she had a pitstop just before a prolonged yellow, late in a race where the leader had planned a splash-and-go, she could win, but I wouldn't count on dominate a race, or win a close duel at the end of a race.
