This article might help: How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power

From the Guardian, 0/25/04

http://www.guardian.co.uk/print/0,,5024413-110878,00.html

"George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholdr of companies that profited from thir involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany....

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and a hum of pre-election controversy."

Read on.
Can't people see a difference between profiting from trade with (and maybe agreeing with) the Nazis and actually helping Hitler's rise to power? The trading puts them on the wrong side morally but Hitler gained power without them, would have behaved the same way without them, and would have still lost the war without them.

The Bush family helping his rise to power is a big, irational stretch.

I can't believe your parsing words and engaging in a bit of obfuscation that makes you look to be an apologist for a Nazi supporter, Prescott Bush!
And that is not a big, irrational stretch.
Perhaps WITHOUT Bush family aid, Hitler would have been defeated SOONER rather than later which may have resulted in saving a few million lives!
Profiteering vermin like Prescott Bush et al., only made the Hitler Wehrmacht a more efficient killing machine. Profiting from trade with (and maybe agreeing with) the Nazis surely did not hinder Hitler's rise to power in the least. In fact this support by Prescott Bush only helped increase Hitler's killing potential and military power.

His 'bum ticker' is acting up!
Always predicted he would leave office for 'health reasons'.

So is this the right time to dump the DICK?
And who will replace the DICK?

This would explain why McCain has been sucking up to Team 'w' all along.
Maybe he was selected for this months ago and now the time is right for the swap of the DICK for the JOHN....;)

Back on track,

McCain? interesting choice. I think it would be a good way for him to bow out of the race while saving face, or, if he stays in the race and Bush is driven out of office that would make McCain President if only for a short while. That would make him a more solid contender.
