Recently asked by a SP friend if I knew where to buy, as she was embarrassed to ask.

Went to Shopper's Drug store and the female pharmacist seemed stunned and said they did not sell. However, as I was asking, a nice young man, could have been my grandson, mentioned that he had used such a thing with his gf.

Hmmmmm oh well, however, he said you did not get in a drug store. Does anyone know the name of this product and where I might find?

Never too old to learn something..........but not my idea of true DATY. Be interested too, on any experiences with such product so I can show my SP friend, the comments for her own knowledge from potential clients.

I don't really know as I have never looked for one. But that took guts asking at Shoppers Drug Mart. I don't think I could bring myself to do that. I would try Come As You Are, a sex shop co-op at 701Queen St. West. 416-504-7934 If you can't find dental dams there, I expect the the very helpful and informed sales help will be able to guide you. Guaranteed they will not be shocked at the request. Condon Shack also on Queen West might carry them too.

Never the less, it would probably be easier to buy a large condom, or magnum sized condom and split it and use it to cover the pussy.

Dental dams are quite thick latex and the odds of getting any sensation through it would be about 0.

Did I read that right? SP who was embarrased to ask? Wouldn't that be like, the easy part of SP'ing to get over? Oh well.

Anyway I've never seen the point of those for DATY. It kills me to go without eating but if I cant get the taste, feel and wetness of it, there is nothing in it for me as a giver, and probably nothing in it for the woman without real suction and tongue texture.

But I would consider using them as a blanket for BJ's for looser fit and easier application than condom.

Saran wrap will do the same as using a dental dam. It also will provide more sensation for the recipient.

Do a search for Sheer Glyde Dams. They're specifically made for cunnilingus, are fairly thin, and can be ordered from quite a few places on the internet.

Thank You.........I called the store on Queen and yes, the do have them there, even flavoured. Cost about a buck a piece. Girl was very helpful on the telephone.

SPs are often shy about going into a public place and asking about such things. At my age, it is a thrill to have them think I can still get things UP.

I appreciate the open and frank comments. I agree with those who say.....it is mundane to have DATY this way. However, having said that........I would never ask a SP to do something she did not feel was safe. It is her body.

I can choose to not partake but I totally respect her right to decide how to share with me.

It was surprising to have Shopper's Drug Mart........be so oblivous to this request though and alarming that someone posing as a pharmacist behind the counter would be clueless.

Look forward to any who share their experience with this protection.

I picked a couple up in a porn movie place in Albany NY one time. They had a bowl of condoms and dams for customers to pick up a couple for free, to promote safe sex. Well I didn't have a chance to use it for sex, but I did open the package and suck and lick it a little to see what it was like. Personally I wouldn't bother with the daty if I had to use it. Not very big either, about 4" by 4" or so. I'd rather just sniff around and feel the heat without licking. BTW one of the TO SP's will rim you only if one of those things is involved. Might still feel good. I suspect that saran wrap would be just as good or better.

this reminds me of a thread a while back, one of the name brands of these things are 'slicks', and you usually have to go to specialty sex shops like the above mentioned 'Come as You Are' or you could try the 'Condom Shack'. there are other places too im sure that would sell them, i myself haven't used them because i think the enjoyment would be lost w/it

No, it won't do the same thing.

One needs to understand what it is the product is designed for, and what its limitations are.

To prevent transmission of disease, the barrier cannot have any teeny, tiny, microscopic holes large enough for the disease to fit through. Condoms and proper dental dams are designed with this in mind, and are tested accordingly. They have an expiry date because over time the latex degrades and the likelihood of a disease (or sperm) finding a way through increases. (Recalling that they're only rated to about 99% effectiveness in the first place).

Saran Wrap is not designed with that same level of impenetrability, and if you inspect it microscopically you're very likely to find the tiniest of holes - acceptable if you're using it to cover food; not acceptable if you're using it to prevent transmission of disease (or sperm). Similarly, ensure that any dental dam you do find is properly tested and isn't just some novelty product designed to limit moisture transfer.

As the recipient, the sensation is definitely different, but not unpleasant or non-existant. Much like a condom I imagine. As the giver, I can't say that I'm a huge fan. It is a bit awkward (more so than giving a covered BJ in my opinion), but I'm wondering if it has more to do with my lack of experience with them. Covered BJ were also awkward to me until I got used to it and discovered ways around the awkwardness of it.

Denta Dams are available at most sex shops. Both Seductions and Cupids have them and they are both located on Young between Charles and Wellesley. I don't think any SP would be opposed to using them at all, the safer the better and I'm sure most of the ladies feel that way.

It took me a long time to find a comfortable way to use a dental dam and I still struggle if I have to hold it myself, oddly the recipient I practiced on didn't mind that I kept asking to try "one more time" :D
I prefer the garter belt method to hold them in place, securing one corner of the dam to each clip of the garter and stretching it out, this gives it some movement but still stays fairly secure. Of course not all male partners will wear a garter for you so if you are using the dam on a male this still leaves you down a hand or two.

I have seen the Dental Dams displayed at the Pharmacy Section of any Super Store, u can buy them off the counter:) bugt wearing a dental dam and performing Daty you wont enjoy at all you wont have the feeling of licking the juicy clit, with dental dams on your teeth, i think the enjoyment would surely reduce to great extent for the male who is performing on the lady!
