Largest study to date confirms overlap between autism and gender diversity

People who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are three to six times as likely to be autistic as cisgender people are, according to the largest study yet to examine the connection1. Gender-diverse people are also more likely to report autism traits and to suspect they have undiagnosed autism.

Researchers often use ‘gender diverse’ as an umbrella term to describe people whose gender identities — such as transgender, nonbinary or gender-queer — differ from the sex they were assigned at birth. Cisgender, or cis, refers to people whose gender identity and assigned sex match.

The results come from an analysis of five unrelated databases that all include information about autism, mental health and gender.

“All these findings across different datasets tend to tell a similar story,” says study investigator Varun Warrier, research associate at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Autistic people are more likely than neurotypical people to be gender diverse, several studies show, and gender-diverse people are more likely to have autism than are cisgender people2,3.

So true. Bob Iger is back at Disney. In my opinion he got back to fight De Santis. And very honestly, even Steve Job has said it, Bob Iger is the real deal.
Corporations always want more, but in the end they locate where they can prosper the most.

There is no evidence that DeSantis' policies are chasing business out of Florida. Here's a recent comparison of % change in GDP state by state:

https://www.bea.gov/data/gdp/gdp-state

At 3.8% for the 3rd quarter of 2022, Florida is right at the top of the 2nd tier of state performance. With the exception of Oregon, all of the top tier performers are other Red states, with Texas at the forefront (a big beneficiary of business relocating from California).

Disney can battle as they see fit, but Disneyworld won't be moving to New York!

Ho I never wrote that De Santi's fascism measures will hurt Florida's business. To be honest businesses rarely care about the political party as it's rarely important to their success. As long as their lobby poor money down the pocket of any party business will continue to roll (and as long as they get bailed out when they fuck up... Which is funny because this is pure socialism... The american way).

To be honest I would not be surprised that new legislation are already being put aside and Disney will get it's special tax magic back, if not already done. All kept silent not to hurt any political ego.

And beside Disney's biggest issue, by far, is it's online streaming business right now.

Hey, I bet we will be able to get the best ever Spaghetti and MEATBALL plate anywhere in the good ole USA.

Ron the Meatball must have really been offended by the Meatball handle, he seems to be losing weight again. Hmmm, may need to help Butterball come up with a new name if he thins out too much.

We'll see about that. De Santis has just started turning the screws on Disney as part of his performative program of ultra MAGA ass-kicking. We'll see how long Disney puts up with it and what they can do in response and whether other large companies take note and decide Arizona or Texas are nicer places to locate head offices.

Speaking of freedom and wokeness.
Looks like the GOP wants people to register with the state if they blog critical things about their dear leaders.
