I need to find a dictaphone/recorder that is small, easy to carry and that can be used to record phone conversations, both land line and cell. I know that recording calls might not be legal, but a friend is going thru some legal difficulties and one of the other parties is known to make offensive calls. Not necessarily threatening, but offensive. They want to record the calls.
Any advice? Will any normal dictaphone do? Can you record by just holding up to the phone or do you need an attachment?
Thanks
S

For regular phones you can buy recording devices fairly easily and cheaply.

If you're on a PBX or some sort of digital switch you'll need a digital recorder which can get expensive rather quickly.

Cellphones are a little more tricky since they're wireless. I did come across this one though, but I've never heard of it and so cannot comment on it's ease of use / quality.
