They are a scam. They need to be shut down.
They're not a scam. It can work only it's not as good a deal as first it seems (Yoda I'm not). Read the fine print very well and don't fall for the high pressure sales tactics. Practice saying no on those door to door energy sales pitches. It can be good providing not breaks down or is not installed right. Then you're basically on your own dealing 'DIRECTLY' with the manufacturers.

Buyer beware!

What happens to your membership fees if they shut down?

Sounds like those lifetime gym memberships outlawed not too long ago.

Guys, here's the bottom line:

If you know you are going to spend over $25,000 in appliances/home reno MATERIALS/big screen TV's within 3 years, then the membership is worth it.

If not, don't even bother.

You save about 20% on average from the best price you could haggle out of Best Buy, and you get a wider selection (basically anything the manufacturer makes, you can get)

(oh yeah don't bother with computers, you don't save anything)

Thanks for all the feedback.

Looks like it is worthwhile to join only if one is going to make large dollar purchases. They do seem to be running that ad very frequently. Wonder why they are pushing so hard for people to join.
