does this sound right?

Essentially it's a $1,500 membership fee.
You get only one chance to join.
You look through catalogues from suppliers and choose what you'd like.
There isn't much of a showroom.
No returns
No exchanges
The prices aren't bad, but you have to buy in bulk to make any type of profit on your membership. IE, but lots of furniture etc, and you'll probably make back your $1,500 at one point or another.

I think it's meant for people looking to furnish a whole house, and not just pick up a rug.

Depends if you actually buy. It makes sense if you know that you have substantial purchases to make (i.e., you're moving into a new home).

The membership expensive, but it has paid for itself several times for me....
