Disturbing email?

I just recieved an email from a friend of mine...apparently its not to be taken lightly but here is the crux of it...

Apparently there is some new gang, whereby their initiation consists of driving around with no headlights. And if anyone warns these people, or flashes their headlights, or honks their horn at them the initiation then directs them to chase/follow these people and shoot them.

I am inclined to believe this isnt true, as the email was a simple forward. But on the other hand, why would anyone even ponder of sending out something like this?

So has anyone heard anything about this or recieved a similiar email??

It's not a hoax! It happened to me!

Except the gang actually needed me to help them move $135 million out of Nigeria before enlarging my penis and consolidating my credit cards and getting me a better mortgage rate...

Are the Urban Legends making a comeback? On another board (yes, there is another board out there), one of the ladies posted that she received an email about the guy jumping in the back seat when filling up gas and the clerk for the store saves her by calling her in to pay, etc. And then in the same thread, another lady posts that "her friend" got a flat tire at the mall and a "well dressed gentleman" helps her out, but she gets suspicious after he asks for a ride so she goes to get the mall security, and they find his suitcase in her car with duct tape, rope and a knife. Of course both are very obviously urban legends as can be seen on snopes. Why do people keep falling for this?

I don't mean to not be careful if you could potentially be in a dangerous situation, but unless you talk to the person that had it happen to them, realize it is a hoax and don't get into a panic.

Oh, by the way, the way it happened to me was I woke up with "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light" written on the mirror, and right then I got a call that was coming from inside the house so I ran out and found a hook still attached to the door handle, so I went to a movie theatre and sat on a needle with the AIDS virus. At least that's how I remember it.

I can confirm this isn't a hoax. I was driving home the other night and two guys in the opposite lane were driving a car with the headlights off. Stupid me, I flicked my lights and the guys pulled a U-turn! They followed me all the way home and then when I got out of my car they shot and killed me. Man, I won't do that again!
