Divorced people, knowing what you know. What would you have done different.

If you are divorced, what would you have done different if you would have known the outcome. You do not have the choice to marry someone else, because that would be taking a second roll at the dice and getting a six again with a 4 and a 2 instead of a 5 and a 1.

Your choices are :

1) Marry the same person and then go through the divorce.
2) Never marry and have companions throughout your life.

What would you do.

None of the above. If I could do it again, I'd probably use the opportunity to address the issues that caused the divorce.

Some people simply don't have the emotional depth to deal with shit. they'd rather just avoid, and escape.

Neither of the above. Have paid attention to the red flags, and started in over again while still dating - hopefully with a better outcome.

I'm not divorced but I'm in a "let's stay married for the kids" relationship. If I could turn back the clock (and kept the wisdom from my experience) I'd have looked to marry someone more compatible. Of course I have two great children from this marriage, but I'd likely have two equally great children from a different marriage. And one more thing. Aside from compatibility, I'd have looked to marry someone with money or earning potential. Marrying poor is no guarantee of happiness so one might as well marry wealthy - at least then a divorce settlement would be more equitable.
