In the clouds

I don't do childish name calling. In fact when I invited you to discuss my philosophy of the history of science and provided references, you ran like a little girl.

Please enlighten us on the deep, meaningful, well researched contributions you make around here?
Why the hell would I want to discuss your philosophy of history of science,..........I could care less about your......."deep, meaningful, well researched contributions".
You could pick your self appointed "experts"........and I could pick mine...........would prove NOTHING.

Can't you get it through your head .......their still just your own biased opnions........nothing more ......... which you are intitled to, and so am I.

Again with the insults
"you ran like a little girl"

Do you believe in God.... Better yet what do you believe in? God exists for those who believe... 'Religion is another story'

Change for the better

I like how we are starting to separate the God thing, force, it, him, she,......from religion, a much more open minded approach to discussing the whole "existence" issue, how ever many there might be.

Although I don't think organised religion would like this "evolution".

No, there is a difference between informed opinions and shooting your mouth off. You only seem interested in the later.

I posted some thoughts on how science worked, none of which were originally mine. You whined I was not an expert so I posted all of the sources for my ideas on the matter. Instead of engaging or actually discussing the issues you just ran away.

And I don't think you could find any modern experts who disagree with the opinions and sources I posted. Some things in various areas of study there are general agreement on. I suspect you could find an "expert" like Immanuael Velikovsky but his ideas are well and rejected these days. But of course you didn't suggest you knew of someone who disagree with my approach, you just whined about it and fled.

If your worldview is "I have an opinion that I have not researched but it is equally valid with all other opinions because I say so" than you are simply unable to engage in either critical reasoning or a normal discussion or debate. It really does make you a child.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. -Psalm 14:1

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? -2 Corinthians 6:14

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. -James 4:7-10

IF you actually did some research, you would find numerous self appointed "experts" with the same stature, in the same community as your hero of the day S. J. Gould, who disagreed with him, NOT including Immanuael Velikovsky.

Can't you get this through your head...........you can quote all the self appointed experts opions you want,.....but that does NOT make you an authority, how ever "well read" you are.

Its still JUST YOUR and their opinions, with absolutely NO proof, at least on the current subject.

I only make comments about you NOT being an expert when you continuously express that because you read a lot of books that you quote, that means everybody else is now wrong, and somehow below you................BULL SHIT................THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM.

Like the law........means one thing to-day.........and some "expert" will have a different OPINION tomorrow.

I have absolutely NO problem expressing your opinion on anything,………everybody is entitled to their opinion.

And again with the insults.
It really does make you a child.

Don't underestimate Velikovsky... have you read any or all of his books? His ideas may not be accepted by "conventional experts" but that is because his ideas don't fit into conventional theories.

When it comes to creative thinking, conventional ideas and theories are the bottom of the pit of darkness. What is conventional today is frequently bunk tomorrow... like the world is flat... and the sun rotates around the earth, etc., etc.

Or, to quote G. B. Shaw, "All great truths begin as blasphemies."

I read two of his books, Worlds in Collision, and I don't recall the other one. I don't for a second think that his science or opinion on the formation of the solar system is correct.

If you had the gumption to actually engage in a debate or conversation on a issue, I would suggest I would love to see you show me these experts who disagree with Gould on the issue of how science advances.

I expect I will still be waiting years from now.

And when you act childishly, that is what people are going to call you.

Is that just your OPINION or a fact, as you are someone who is an authority on the subject ?????

It is the widely held opinion of the entire scientific community. I would be happy to call it fact.

Do you disagree? Do you know what we are talking about?

This not being the U.K. you might be quite supprised what Lawyers know.

For instance are you aware of what the requirements are to be admitted to the Patent Bar in the U.S.A.?

I would assume documented expertise in Engineering.

But I would be more interested in the requirements for divorce lawyers !!!!!

^^^ No you do not have to have been divorced yourself. However you are far more likely to be assaulted or murdered, practicing Family Law, than defending murderers.

* A science or engineering degree.
