The Blackberry 8800 is like the new Blackberry Pearl with some differences being it is bigger than Pearl, the screen is a bit bigger and it does not have a built in camera like the Pearl does. The 8800 has a built in GPS whereas the Pearl will work as a GPS with an optional external receiver.
IMO, the Blackberry Pearl is your best bang for the buck as it's a fully functional Blackberry in a nice compact sleek package. The 8800 is basically a blown up version of the Pearl less the camera and more that twice the cost.
